Be aware there is no hot water, but as we learned, this is fairly common in Sri Lanka. It’s on the main road, so there is some traffic noise, but it didn’t bother us. Dinner is also available with notice to the family.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed! Jonti was always attentive, he kept the place clean and tidy, a kind soul to chat with! I enjoyed cooking and sharing food with my roommates, and just chilling out in the common area. Watching animals coming and going in the garden was fun - mongoose, monkey, parrot, Bengali monitor, woodpecker, kingfisher, hornbill, etc. Two minutes walk to the lake for sunrise/sunset. Truly a gem in Anuradhapura!

During my trip to Polonnaruwa, my car broke down in Habarana, forcing me to stay overnight. I booked a room at Gabaa Resort, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience despite the unexpected situation. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help me find a reliable garage and get my car fixed promptly. The room was clean and comfortable, providing much-needed relaxation. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, exceeding my expectations. Though my stay was brief, the exceptional service and hospitality left a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Our stay at Swan Lake Habarana was fantastic. Kalhara was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond—organizing a cultural evening, a great safari trip, and arranging tuk-tuks at fair prices. He helped with everything before, during, and after our stay. The guesthouse was clean, comfortable, and surrounded by nature. The breakfast was also very good! Highly recommended!

I stayed at this accommodation for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The owner is very nice and gave me a lot of support in planning the journey to and from the hotel. He also planned the safari for me. This was a great experience as the guide had a lot of knowledge. Another highlight was the dinner. The room was perfectly fine for the two nights. The room was very clean. I can highly recommend this accommodation.

Il comprend un jardin, une terrasse et un service d'étage pour votre confort.... Petit établissement en marge du village, entouré de végétation et donc moins étouffant qu’en ville . Notre hôte, très charmant nous a organisé nos 3 journées passées ici Jour 1: il nous conduit en tuctuc jusqu’au rocher de Pidurangala. Ascension difficile mais vue extraordinaire sur le Rocher de Sigiriya. Jour 2 : safari en jeep proche de Harabana. On a vu des dizaines d’éléphants. Magnifique. Jour3: visite en tuctuc jusqu’à Sigiriya. On découvre la campagne environnante . Nous avons passé 3 jours merveilleux avec cette famille pleine d’attention 😊

Offrant une vue sur la montagne, l’établissement Rock Villa Relax City Resort se trouve à Mihintale. the owner was super helpful, the breakfast was superb. Room was clean and the AC was working very well. Good location to explore the Mihintale temple (walking distance)

L’établissement Habarana Tree house Mutu village se situe à Habarana, à 11 km de ce lieu d’intérêt : Promontoire rocheux Pidurangala. We upgraded to the A-frame tree house with a private pool a few days before arrival, and it was the best decision. The pool was the perfect size to cool off for our family of five. We loved our stay here. While this hotel might be a bit further from Sigiriya, they organised a driver in a safari jeep to take us where we needed to go. We also went on a game drive to a nearby national park, which was amazing; we saw so many elephants. You can walk into some local shops as well. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and both were really good—best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka.
