The pool is clean and large and a bonus for hot hours, we were with children who really enjoyed it. The host, Gamani, is so kind, helpful and friendly. We couldn't ask for a better place than this.

It is located in the jungle and sleeping in a treehouse is really special! You could hear all the wild animals during the night and the rain falling on the roof and the trees surrounding the tree house. The bathroom was very special, since it was located outside the room, shovering in the jungle was a nice experience. The sheets could have been a little bit cleaner, but overall it was very clean. And the absolutely best thing of this hotel is the crazy delicious food! A variety of home cooked dishes let's you find real joy! This is a family business and the people working there are very very friendly and helpful.🥰♥️

An absolutely incredible guesthouse with the most lovely hosts, and crazy good value for money. We had a beautifully decorated room, and there were several hangout spots both indoors and outdoors that you were welcome to spend time in. The breakfasts/dinners are served al fresco under a pergola overlooking the valley with rice paddies and beautiful birdsong. One of the absolute highlights was the free cooking class to make your dinner - we made 4-5 different curries with our rice and curry order, with the most delightful chef patiently waiting for us to weakly shred fresh coconut to make sambal!! About a 10-15 min tuktuk ride into town for an explore, which was very reasonably priced. I'm so glad we stayed here a bit away from the centre of town rather than in the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The hosts are also so welcoming and lovely, and speak excellent English. They also helped organise transport for us to Nuwara Eliya to our next stay. This was a genuinely edenic experience and we would absolutely come stay here again on a future visit to Sri Lanka.

We had a brilliant stay in Lion Gate Hotel! Everyone working there was so kind, friendly and helpful. We had the traditional breakfast in the morning which we really enjoyed. The hotel is a very short tuktuk ride from everything you could want to see and do. We also enjoyed spending time at the pool which was very well maintained.

The accommodation provides evening entertainment and a shared kitchen. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed! Jonti was always attentive, he kept the place clean and tidy, a kind soul to chat with! I enjoyed cooking and sharing food with my roommates, and just chilling out in the common area. Watching animals coming and going in the garden was fun - mongoose, monkey, parrot, Bengali monitor, woodpecker, kingfisher, hornbill, etc. Two minutes walk to the lake for sunrise/sunset. Truly a gem in Anuradhapura!

The family treated me like one of their own, making me feel completely at home. They ensured that I was well accommodated and offered anything I needed. The location is perfect, as it's close to the city center, making it very convenient for exploring. The homestay had a peaceful and warm atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The family went above and beyond with small gestures, like sharing local tips and even offering to help with my travel plans, which made the stay feel even more special. Boasting a garden and views of mountain, Pearl's Homestay Matale is a recently renovated holiday home situated in Matale, 27 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. I loved everything, especially the owners, Pearl and Ranjan. They treated us like their own children—they are truly wonderful people. The breakfast was delicious; Pearl is an amazing cook, and Ranjan joined us for a walk around the area. If we ever return to Matale, this will undoubtedly be our stop again. Thank you for everything.
