Really helpful and giving advice on what to do and helping ordering tuk tuks if required. The cabana itself was extremely clean and spacious with good AC. Food was amazing too. Cannot fault, definitely stay here if in the area.

Bernard was very helpful, unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the swimming pool because was raining all the time. Breakfast was really nice, the coconut roti with spicy coconut was the best! Also we were so happy to see, jumping around the terrace, cheeky monkeys, grey langurs :)

Boasting a garden and views of mountain, Pearl's Homestay Matale is a recently renovated holiday home situated in Matale, 27 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. When my driver edged up the narrow-inclined driveway of this very modern home, I didn’t know what to expect. But Pearle and her husband Ranjan greeted me with broad smiles and open arms. After they had retired, they built this sophisticated home on their family’s property. Since the terrain of Matale is mostly mountainous, their home is perched up high on a small hill, allowing a beautiful view of the city from their wide terrace. Communication was swift and efficient as their daughter fielded email questions from the UK. English was spoken perfectly by all members of the family, so no worries for any miscommunication. I had arrived in the late afternoon and Pearle offered me tea. Ranjan returned with some short eats and we sat around chatting. The conversation was easy and I felt like I was visiting good friends for the afternoon. My room was located just off their living room with an adjacent bathroom with contemporary fixtures – it felt like I was in a fancy hotel! The stylish room with extremely high ceilings was spacious and tastefully decorated with an enormous mosquito net tied with ribbons around the large four poster bed. There is a portable air conditioner/fan which was not really needed as the evenings are usually cool and temperate. Breakfast was a luxurious feast with red rice string hoppers, potato curry, dal, green gram and a delicious, spicy chicken curry. Watermelon, pineapple, and sweet juicy papaya from their garden rounded out the meal. After retirement, Pearle turned her interests to cooking and she is certainly an accomplished cook! My only regret was staying only one night and will certainly come back for a longer visit!

Located close to the road in walking distance to central part of Sigiriya town, but very quiet and peaceful. No noise from road or cafes, and sound insulation between rooms is good. People working here are very welcoming and friendly. Room was spacious and clean, AC worked good. The territory is beautiful with pond and greenery. Breakfast is also tasty and beautifully served.

The breakfast was great and Karu was super fun company, plus gave excellent help with arranging transport for early morning and recommendations about Sigiriya. One of the absolute high lights of our trip to Sri Lanka :)

It is exceptional value for money, the facilities are great, big bathroom, great pool, ac and fan and the staff were incredibly nice. We were checking out at 5am to climb Sigiriya rock and so weren’t able to have breakfast, however they offered to make us sandwich’s instead which was incredibly kind.
