The spacious colonial architecture combined perfectly with the convenient furnishings. The bed was super extra-large, literally over 2 meters wide. Romulo has a passion for history and gave me an impromptu guided tour of the very nearby Inca trail and some key sites along the way. The location is excellent, within walking distance of downtown Cuzco but above all the noise, right next to an important park with the Temple of the Moon and other historic sites. My room was large and comfortable, breakfast was great, I was given a hot water bottle every evening. Highly recommend!

Yes it is a little hike up a hill, but we were received with warmth from the owners and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Three of us stayed in the refugios, and our two camping mateswithout a booking were given a safe place to pitch a tent. The rooms were extremely comfy, with many blankets and had an emsuite bathroom with endless hot water. Outside the room is a lovely balcony with massage rollers, exactly what was needed this stage in the trek. The food was the best food I have had on salkantay, very veg and vegan friendly. There are coffee tours on site and a little store that sells the cheapest bread and fresh fruit/veg.when we left Mery gave us all Oreos and a banana for the road.
