This was my second time visiting Punta Cana.
This was my second time visiting Punta Cana. Still undergoing a lot of building and construction, but it is a growing county. We stayed in Uvero Alto at the beginning of September. We did see plenty of seaweed but they do try to remove it daily. But for my liking the ocean is nice to see but due to the darker water and seaweed I didn't get in the water. Macoa beach was not impressive and they have many vendors that are extremely overpriced. Other than that you can walk along the beach, but plan to take your own food for the day or spend $25 per lb of fish or $30 per lb for lobster. Saona Island was beautiful, you see the blue Caribbean waters and white sand. This time we saw clear waters, but the first time there was a lot of seaweed.Guest review byHernandezUnited States - 8.0

The colonial Zone of Santo Domingo is stunning, with a lot of Museums, A beautiful Cathedral, a very active nightlife, cafes, restaurants a so much. Perfect for walking and relaxing, very Bohemian vibe. Recomendations: Mosquito bar, La casa del ron with a stunning view of the Cathedral and Sabina with a very bohemian style. If you want a more modern vibe then stay in the Piantini district, With a lot of modern bars, restaurants like Sarah and a lot roof top around the city. and a very cosmopolitan vibe, however, be aware that the traffic is chaotic and stressful during peak hours. It's a quaint little town. All the restaurants are Italian or pizzerias. They were fair to good. The stores are interesting. It is a small village. Sad, overpriced and not very nice. A lot of rubbish everywhere. No local culture. Beaches were poor. Theres a view of a large powerstation from the beach. No good food available apart from ridiculously overpriced top-end restaurants. Very shabby and disappointing overall.
