This small Boutique hotel is truly a gem in Shkodra. I was surprised at what an amazing stay I had there. It starts with the response from the owner Geni who was very helpful to provide us parking for only 5 euros per day. The location is the best you can ask for. It is right in the pedestrian street, the heart of the city. The rooms were spacious enough for the 2 of us. The hotel is brand new and everything was spotless. They turned an old house into a modern hotel while keeping the style. That was something i really loved. The room and the toilet were super clean with all the amenities required. The AC was very strong and the bed was very comfy. It was a twin room but they pushed the beds together and they added an extra layer which made it feel just like a regular double bed. The restaurant below was very nice and the food was amazing. Geni the owner even gave us a discount on our meals since we were guests. It was very nice of him to do so. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of options and very fresh. I was honestly amazed with this place. I do travel a lot within Albania due to work and this is one of the best places I have been so far. I will definitely return here again whenever I am in Shkodra. Thank you Hotel Boutique Oborri Shkodran.

I loved this hotel. As it's well described it's in a key areas everything is super near, the supermarket, restaurants,bars etc. Super neat and clean, super assistable staff ,kind and friendly. They also gave the best recommendations. Will definitley come back.

This hotel was such a great find. It’s super central, with tons of restaurants nearby. The host, Eno (hopefully correct spelling), was awesome, really friendly and made me feel so welcome right from the start after taking long bus ride. We had a nice chat, which made the stay feel extra personal. And had cool recommendations about Shkoder and Theth logistics. Don't be afraid to ask for local recommendations It’s also super convenient, being just a block from the main bus stop. The hotel itself has a modern vibe, and I was pretty impressed with the remote-controlled curtains—such a cool touch! They’ve got a terrace too, but I didn’t make it up there. I liked it so much that I ended up extending my stay by another night to include a day trip to Theth. Definitely worth it!

This time I saw Shkodra with different eyes.

This time I saw Shkodra with different eyes. The city’s diversity of people and cultural mix stood out strongly, and over the weekend the lively atmosphere of parties gave it an energetic spirit. What touched me most, however, were the Catholic churches scattered around the city. Stepping into them gave me a profound sense of spirituality and peace, balancing the vibrant social scene outside. Shkodra truly holds a unique charm – a place where culture, celebration, and spirituality come together beautifully.

Five star service.

Five star service. The staff really makes you feel like family and goes above and beyond. The animals all contribute to the farm and are so well taken care of. They’re all a part of the experience. The rooms are impeccably clean and traditional with modern upgrades (best plumbing, great AC, hotel toiletries, great shower etc), clean, crisp white sheets. All of the things you’d expect in a five star hotel, except this feels more like your own home. Gzim and his wife are wonderful and provide help whenever you need advice for local restaurants or a ride nearby. Mrizi is literally 3-4 min max by foot. I preferred staying at Vitoria over Mrizi, and would return again. My son loved it! And Breakfast was wonderful!!

Out of season there is really nothing to do in the city and...

Out of season there is really nothing to do in the city and we cam in the beginning of October. 95% of shops and restaurants are closed and kids have nothing to do int he are of the town. I believe that in the season this place is very lively, but we have not experienced that ourselves.

It was the first time to be in Velipoje.

It was the first time to be in Velipoje. It's not a big city but I am positively surprised. The Velipoja beach (where we were placed) was clean, the water was so clear and warm. The kids part with the toys at the center of the city was excellent. The food was good tasted, fresh and the staff was very polite.

Reviews we read of Shkoder said it's a university town with lots of biking. Not sure what those reviewers were writing about, but there weren't many bike friendly areas and the town was not as vibrant as we expected. We did spend some time in the Shiroka area on the lake a 10 minute or so drive from Shkoder and that was very nice - good restaurants and lake activities. We also went to the mountains and stayed in Theth, which was wonderful and highly recommended.

The hotel is close to the beach, which was great.

The hotel is close to the beach, which was great. The pool was small but clean, and my son really enjoyed it. Breakfast was OK, and there are small shops nearby, along with parking available. I would have rated this 5 stars if it weren't for one issue: the cooking utensils. If you plan to book an apartment, I recommend bringing your own cooking pans, or you’ll be disappointed.
