There are many supermarkets nearby. The apartment close to the road and railway but there was not noisy at all. Free parking space. It’s only 30 minutes drive to the attractions in Dolomites, such as lake Braies and Tre Cime di Lavadero , easy to cross the border. A beautiful small village of old wooden houses, bedecked with flowers, and friendly people. A great centre for exploring the area, winter or summer. Gondola to the Golzentipp (ski, hill walking, great views) from just behind the church. Excellent sports equipment shop in the village. This is our second visit here.
This is our second visit here. We like the location very much. The nearby cable car takes you in six minutes to an altitude of 2000 meters and the start of some amazing walks across meadows with 360 degrees views and up hill to a reservoir, a small lake and the top of the Golzentipp mountain. We went at the beginning of July and in all my travels throughout Austria I have never seen so many startlingly blue gentian and alpine roses. There was a myriad of activities enroute to keep children very happily entertained and a superb restaurant/cafe at the start. A gem of a day. We like to travel down the Villgratental which is near Sillian and where very old chalet houses abound and then travel to the Unterstalleralm cafe where there are stunning views from the balcony and lovely alpine food. The toilet seat lids are amusing too. There is a small toll to get to the parking space at the top and several walks from there. We love to walk up to Oberstalleralm village but also the waterfall which you can see from the car park opposite the Unterstalleralm cafe.Guest review byMalcolm WUnited Kingdom
