- From US$422.24 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 941 reviewsHow can one encapsulate the exceptional staff of this Falkensteiner hotel in words? The incredibly friendly receptionist meets guests with an ever-present smile, professionality, sincerity and youthful enthusiasm. She had no problem going the extra mile to ensure guests were satisfied. After our stay at the hotel, we can state the same for all staff members. Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden is a textbook example of top hotel service and a source of inspiration for all hotels developing their luxury offer. The Aquapura SPA Wellness Centre stretches a staggering 3600 square metres and is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious in this part of Europe. A rich offer includes an indoor and outdoor pool, a panoramic sauna in the garden and a relaxation space with water beds and a SPA cinema. Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden is absolutely one of the most prestigious hotels within the Falkensteiner portfolio. Similarly to a world-class athlete, it faces the task of beating its own standards and thus retaining its spot among the best in the hotel industry. When we last evaluated the hotel, the Falkensteiner hotel group had only started managing it. Today, it is in peak performance and is ageing almost as well as the finest Bordeaux wines. The hotel has stood the test of time, considering fifteen years have passed since the last substantial investment. Is the hotel the flagship of tourism in Carinthia? Undeniably. Led with German precision and flaunting Austrian charm, the hotel is superb in every segment.Guest review byGorazdSlovenia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 825 reviewsWe have been here only for 1 day, but the location is superb, parking is easy. Also you can charge your electric car, the staff can help you with that. The Hotel is almost next to the town, you can access it by walk or even with a Tier or some scooter. Receptionist and the staff were very helpfull and kind. The room was nice, and clean, with proper equipment. The pool and sauna also great. Breakfast has a lot of options, and wide variety of stuff. Gluten intolerance people can have a nice breakfast too. Dinner is from the menu, not swedish style so it will take more time to serve you. If you want to visit the town or do some walking after dinner it is good to start dinner early.Guest review byKalmanHungary

Fortunately we got the same room where once the younger brother of the Austrian emperor Franz Joseph I stayed! Great staff, kind, friendly and helpful! Delicious breakfast offering even sparkling wine! We enjoyed sauna and steam bath following lake swim as well. Highly recommended!Guest review byElenaUnited Arab Emirates

It was all positive, the old buildings, town squares, the old restaurants in the "downtown", the spectacular views and restaurants on the lake, walking around those areas around the lake, the weather and how nice everyone was. Plus we have great friends that live there and they are the best, they showed us around to great places and we had a great time.Guest review byDaveUnited States - 10.0

We caught the train from Pritswich to Portschach which was a very short journey. Their timetables at the station/collection points are so easy to understand. Portschach is a very picturesque place. The houses looked very clean adorned with flowers, very tidy streets. People are very friendly and the majority spoke English. The food was delicious especially the cakes. There was a park area which took you down to the lake. Also a play area for children. We caught the ferry over to Maria Worth and then later, travelled by ferry to Velden.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The village and the surroundings are beautiful, good food in the restaurants. We missed a cafe open in the morning :). The church and its surroundings are incredibly beautiful and well-kept: no wonder it is the symbol of the village.Guest review byBorbálaHungary - 10.0
Great skiing resort.
Great skiing resort. Many ski-lifts and pistes to explore and they are all well prepared. The pistes are not too difficult, most of them are of medium difficulty, but there are also some pistes suited for learning skiers. There is also a possibility to trek to the nearest peaks with or without the help of ski-lifts. The wellness is also great with an outside heated pool from where you can see the ski pistes. The area is well suited for families since it is peaceful and quiet.Guest review byMarioSlovenia - 10.0

I might be biased, I was born in Spittal an der Drau, but the town has certainly some charm on it's own. The renaissance Schloß Porcia, roman excavation in nearby Teurnia, the surrounding landscapes with lakes, mountains offering plenty opportunities for hiking, swimming and enjoyment of the local food specialties.Guest review byHeinzUnited States - 10.0
We visited in December, over New Years.
We visited in December, over New Years. Seeboden is well located to reach lots of hiking trials after only a few mins car drive (or bus). The ski area Goldeck is also only 15-20mins away by car. Shops, hotels and restaurants are all in walking distance. The view from the lake shore is beautiful and calming. We ate most of the time in our hotel, Moserhof, because we liked their food a lot. Once we ventured out to Postwirt and again we liked it so much that we went back another time. Great food for decent money. And the service really surprised us in both places. Super friendly people who anticipate your next wish before you have voiced it, but all without being intrusive.Guest review byHeikeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The staff was great and the room was very comfortable. Fast wi-fi and slippers and robe in the room. Parking was free and just outside the hotel. There is no elevator if you are on upper floors. Short walk to the abbey which is now an arts center and to the local beach although you could swim in the lake right from the hotel property.Guest review byJosephUnited States - 10.0
The whole area of Worthersee lake is worth visiting.
The whole area of Worthersee lake is worth visiting. It offers a lot of activities for all (tourism, cycling, swimming, water activities). The lake is the warmest in Austria and its water is crystal clear and warm as the summer sea. All the nature around is beautiful and calm.Guest review byGabrielaCzech Republic
