- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 107 reviewsThis place was truely amazing. The hotel itself looks like a beautiful modern castle a bit outside the city of Gerlos, surrounded by snowy plains and mountains. Rooms are surprisingly big, very modern while having a warm wooden touch, very clean, excellent bathroom facilities. Sauna and Swimmingpool are beautiful. Food was exceptional (!). While breakfast and lunch were buffets with a great variety, also for vegans, Dinner was a 5 course menu a la carte - with quality of a Michelin Starred restaurant. I could write an essay alone about the food. Staff was world class - friendly, approachable, compentent. Milan from the Restaurant staff was an exceptional host. Ski lift to Zillertal Arena is one street crossing away from the main entrance. Perfect. Overall, we felt like in a dream - thus I can confirm the name of this hotel being more than accurate. Travelling a lot around the world using hotels, this is one of the Top3 stays in my life. Thank you to the Hollaus Family for creating this beautiful place.Guest review byAlexSwitzerland
- From US$202.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,423 reviewsReally enjoyed our stay at Kohlerhof, everything about it was perfect. A charming hotel with a very alpine feel, located right by a bus stop to head up to Hochfugen ski area. Food was great, buffet style with a good choice. The spa area was excellent as well, perfect after a day on the slopes. We had one of the deluxe double rooms and it was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Nicely done out, it felt just the right level of luxury. Finally the staff were very friendly and helpful. When I got home to the UK I realised I'd left a jacket in the room, a quick call to the hotel and the jacket was posted back to me. Fantastic customer service! 100% recommended and will definitely stay here again!Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom

- From US$378.19 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 202 reviewsThis place is an incredible maze with comfort and wellness hidden in almost every corner. The heated pools, the lounging areas, the adult only areas… It truly was an amazing, neat experience. And the transfers from the village to the ski pistes is a very big plus! They made luxury and relaxation available and accessible for a solo skier. And the ski cellar; amazing!Guest review byLiseNetherlands

The perfect Zillertal base — charming, active, and full of alpine character. Mayrhofen is a gem in the heart of the Zillertal Alps — both lively and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. My favorite spot in town was the central square with the iconic ibex statue and the beautiful alpine church, perfect for soaking in the mountain vibe. I enjoyed traditional Tyrolean meals at local guesthouses, and the hut-style restaurants in the surrounding mountains are worth the hike. Breakfast at my hotel was exceptional, and the Zillertal beer is a must-try after a long day outdoors. Getting around is easy — everything in town is walkable, and the Zillertalbahn train makes exploring the valley simple. For solo travelers like me, Mayrhofen is ideal: scenic hiking trails start right from town, there’s an excellent pool & spa complex (Erlebnisbad), and plenty of cafés and beer gardens to meet people or just relax. Whether you’re here for a few days or as a base for adventures like the Berliner Höhenweg, Mayrhofen delivers both comfort and authentic alpine atmosphere.Guest review byGeorg.AlAlbania - 10.0
Fugen is a great base for the Zillertal Valley.
Fugen is a great base for the Zillertal Valley. There are good restaurants and bars and it is less noisy than some places. Easy road and rail access to the other resorts. We have stayed in this village several times. We really like not having to queue at bust times to get up the valley. We always leave early to get on the lifts and the roads are quiet then. Highly recommended.Guest review byChris RockerUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Gerlos, in the heart of Tirol, is a true piece of paradise. Surrounded by majestic mountains and endless alpine trails, it offers breathtaking views in every direction. The fresh mountain air, crystal-clear streams, and the peaceful charm of the village create the perfect escape from the everyday rush. I love it, it's my favorite!Guest review byirina lianaRomania - 10.0

Ski runs in Tux a bit short, but in general area is big and beautiful, also there are massive Zillertal Arena and Hintertux Glacier ski areas near by. We were traveling by car (there are also ski busses), so visited all nearby skiing locations (you may buy one skipass which will cover all of them). Also I'd recommend great Spa/pool facilities - Erlebnistherme ZillertalGuest review bySviat_FNetherlands - 8.0

This skiing area is large enough for a week, except when you are a experienced skier, then it might be too small. It was 14-17 °C all week (march '25 !!!) and there was still enough snow on the slopes, just not in the valley below. Good slopes, not too many for real beginners though. Several kid's fun slopes, and several action parks, slaloms with movie recordings and speed checks. Nice to download the movies afterwards!Guest review byRob VDSBelgium - 10.0

We enjoyed the opportunity to visit different valleys around Finkenberg depending on the weather. Heavy cloud, rain (and snow above 2000m) prevented us going very high, but the forests and river walks were beautiful.Guest review byAlistairUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Kaltenbach is a relatively remote village, offering a peaceful atmosphere and authentic alpine charm. However, its location is very convenient, as it is close to great attractions around the Zillertal Valley. Whether you're interested in outdoor activities or simply enjoying the stunning scenery, this area has much to offer.Guest review byItamarIsrael - 10.0

Calm village in valley, not far from a highway, good location for trips. In the village possible to buy fresh milch, eggs, honey. In night calm, a traffic on the main road is not annoying during a day.Guest review byMarciCzech Republic - 10.0
I've been to Mayrhofen many times over the years.
I've been to Mayrhofen many times over the years. On top of the magnificent views and mountains, I always recommend it particularly on the size of the town. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and hotels in the centre, which give plenty of options if you ever should get a bad weather day. If you are there for a few days, the Active Card is well worth getting. It includes all lifts, train and buses in the valley, so you can get about easily, trying other towns in the valley, without thinking of additional cost.Guest review byDarrenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Quiet in the old village but just enough restaurants, bars and cafes to keep us entertained. No apres ski to speak of. Bus system is quite good but not all that frequent, and beware, they sometimes leave early from the smaller stops.Guest review byandrewUnited Kingdom
