- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 583 reviewsThe view from our room was marvelous. The room was big, clean, equipped with everything. Good breakfast and dessert. Appreciated the snacks served between breakfast and dinner. Plenty of alcoholic drinks to choose from, good cocktails. I appreciated the private sundeck with sunbeds and that the SUPs and canoes were for free, as well as life vests and paddles. The self service bar was a nice touch too. Even though we discovered it on our own, since no one actually told us about it. Even if I did not use the service, I think it's cool they provide bikes for rental. I appreciated we received the Grainau Card, even if we didn't really use it. But a cute gesture. Parking with a lot of spaces, only for hotel guests.Guest review byTeodoraRomania
- From $337.10 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 454 reviewsWe were greeted on arrival by a very friendly man who showed us to our rooms and explained the facilities in and around the hotel. Our rooms were great and nicely decorated. We paid a little extra to have them with a balcony overlooking the mountains. Highly recommended. There was a tea/coffee maker in the room, as well as fabulous slippers, bath ropes and plenty of towels. Nice toiletries. The swimming pool and spa are small but lovely, with plenty of sunbeds inside and out. We were lucky with the weather and were able to have breakfast outside. There is a nice buffet with lots of choice. Free spacious parking.Guest review byVictoriaUnited Kingdom

The traditional-style furniture added so much character and perfectly complemented the rustic mountain setting. The view was absolutely breathtaking, with rolling hills and serene landscapes right outside my window. The staff was incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming, making the stay even more special. This hotel is a perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape to the tranquility of nature while enjoying authentic, traditional hospitality. Highly recommend!Guest review bymy20sGermany
- From $278.25 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 3,179 reviewsIt was a great location. We did half board and enjoyed breakfast and dinner in on site restaurant. The indoor pool was nice, the fitness center was well equipped and the sauna/wellness center was very nice. Enjoyed a massage followed by time in the multiple saunas. This dog friendly hotel was perfect for our stay. The family skied/snowboarded at Garmisch Classic and had a great time. Would definitely recommend this place. And would stay here again.Guest review byTiffanieGermany

Physically - GaPa is super easy to walk around.
Physically - GaPa is super easy to walk around. Mainly the walking is on flat, well maintained sidewalks. Also, If you like hiking up mountains there are plenty of trails to spend days exploring (weeks maybe?) We especially loved the mountain top restaurants. Spiritually - The Catholic Church's here (Like all over Europe) are beautiful and steeped in history. The crowds (tourists) were respectful and maintained a quiet demeanor as they walked around the church. But, for those serious about their Catholic Faith there is plenty of time in the church without crowds to spend in prayer, silence and contemplation with Jesus. Mentally - GaPa is a great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The people are friendly. The mountains are picture perfect. This place has got to be on your Bucket-list.Guest review byPeter - 10.0

A picturesque little village with a train station to the Zugspitze, outdoor and indoor swimming and saunas, beautiful mini-golf, lots of hiking trails, and good connections, e.g., Garmisch to Partenkirchen and the Austrian side. It is only under a 1,5 h drive from Munich.Guest review byTiinaFinland - 10.0

The DE-ticket works between Ehrwald and Garmish, despite that Ehrwald is in Austria, so one can travel freely there. The Zugspitze, Sonnenspitze and other locations are reachable by train/bus/cable car from Ehrwald. The Seebensee is fantastic lake, one can get there by a bus+cable car and using and normal road or a bus and a rather difficult via ferrata. Also there is an indoor climbing (about 15m high) gym with 4 automatic belaying stations in Ehrwald, so one can climb even during bad weather conditions.Guest review byPavelGermany - 10.0

We've been to Mittenwald many times and it's one of my favorite places in the region. It's a beautiful village with lots to see and do. There are many places to hike and a cable car trip to the top of Karwendel is a great way to spend a day.Guest review byCarolynUnited States - 10.0

Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. Munchen and Innsbruck are only an hour drive away.Guest review byArthurNetherlands - 8.0

We usually like to visit Lermoos for a short vacation. The best thing about our one night stay this time was the Sevim Holzofen Pizzeria. Awesome food and such a warm welcome. Unfortunately this time we had a very poor experience staying at 'keyone' accommodation.Guest review byKoopNetherlands - 8.0

Biberwier is a beautiful, pastoral village nestled in the Austrian Alps, offering a serene and picturesque environment for visitors. The village is perfectly situated, providing easy access to a variety of nearby attractions, including skiing and hiking trails, scenic lakes, and cultural landmarks. It's an excellent base for exploring the Tyrolean region, with its charming local atmosphere and close proximity to popular destinations like the Zugspitz Arena, the Marienberg ski area, and the breathtaking Fernpass region. For those looking for a peaceful retreat with plenty of outdoor activities, Biberwier is an ideal choice. However, it is important to research your accommodation options carefully to ensure a pleasant stay.Guest review byItamarIsrael - 10.0

Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the busyness of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but not too far away to be a moment away. Great local food and welcoming people, have been coming here for years and plan to return. The atlas hotel has a great restaurant with lots of choice and it’s easy to get to with the train station from Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.Guest review byChristopherUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We did not spend any time in Berwang proper except overnight in our accommodations. However, it was perfectly located for our planned day trips - visits to the peak of the Zugspitze, nearby alpine lakes, and castle visits (Ehrenberg, Hohenschwangau, and Neuschwanstein), including a walk back and forth over the Highline 179 suspension bridge and ziplining down to the parking lot. If we had had more time, would have spent it exploring Berwang itself. Can't say enough about how beautiful the area is.Guest review byBrianUnited States
