The property was easy to find and the apartment that we stayed in had a parking spot right out front under cover and it was well appointedwith everything we needed to stay there for much longer than one night we were there. It was all updated and beautiful. The beds were extremely comfortable and there were enough pillows and covers whether you sleep hot or cold. On a positive note, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the location is hard to beat — right in the heart of the city with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the riverfront. Short drive to wineries and and tourist towns like Beechworth, Bright and Yarrawonga. When ever I am in Albury I always stock up on great produce at Harris’s Farm Markets. Very pretty town quite an interesting history. Great cafes but the night life is about what you would expect. Fantastic art gallery near the river and an arts centre as well. Everything you could need in terms of shopping. Lots of cool day trips on offer as well. I would visit again but always in spring, never go in winter or summer! I come up for the Echuca blues Festival but prefer to stay in Moama its a nice quiet Town and only a few Klm to Echuca, has changed a lot since the 70s. About $20.00 for a cab into Echuca. Should have a bus running constant for the Blues fes as parking can be a nightmare. The Blues bus runs on the Saturday only which I think is free. Wodonga is the more upmarket side of the NSW/Victoria border. It lacks much in the way of heritage, with only the old railway station (now a trendy cafe area) as any real form of architecture. Actually, there is not much in Mulwalla except a lot of accommodation, mainly around the Lake. The main town, Yarrawonga, is on the Victorian side of the bridge connecting the two. The main activities in the area centre around the fresh water lake: fishing, swimming, canoeing, water skiing. Rutherglen is an interesting small town in the north east of Victoria and vineyard country. Many old and well maintained houses and commercial buildings. A pleasant main street with interesting shops and good coffee.
