Good sized room with a comfortable bed and nicely decorated. Close to the beach and the centre of Port Douglas. Bernie on reception was extremely helpful and kept us updated on temporary road closures caused by flash flooding from a cyclone. Outdoors there is a large very well equipped outdoor kitchen and a nice pool for cooling off and chilling out under an amazing enormous oceanic mural.

Just a 7-minute walk from Four Mile Beach and 600 yards from Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, Tropic Retreat features accommodations in Port Douglas with barbecue facilities.

Everything. Close to the village, walkable. Barbara, the manager and her husband were great. She booked our tours, gave advice, helped with our transportation and they were both very pleasant to deal with.

There is nothing not to like about this property The location is exceptional, a block from 4 mile beach, sitting on Macrossan Street and all the restaurants and shops. The deluxe apartment was well laid out with a balcony overlooking the garden and pool. The real treasure at this property is Ken, the owner of this property. His interest and kindness towards his guests is wonderful. He is full of local information, recommendations for places to visit and restaurants. He genuinely cares and is interested in his guests Ken, made our stay an exceptional experience. I would definitely recommend this property and stay here again
