Where to start.. The room was super clean and comfortable, the AC worked well and it had a balcony with a view of the pool and the rocks/fortress area! The 'rock' pool was also really clean with a small waterfall, so refreshing and peaceful. The shared kitchen was well-equipped and had lots of space for eating/drinking inside and out. The location was perfect, so close to nice restaurants, the panoramic viewpoint and not far from the fortress. The host was very communicative and helpful. They helped me book a taxi to and from the train station and told me about local events happening during my stay (a Bulgarian rock concert at the fortress!) I was in the converted bank building because the usual hotel was full as I'd booked late. It's in a nice quiet part of town overlooking the park. Huge beautiful windows and very comfortable beds. Vidin is located in the far northeast part of Bulgaria and...
Vidin is located in the far northeast part of Bulgaria and reaching it is a bit of a challenge due to the poor infrastructure but the town offers interesting places to visit as well as good dining options. The Baba Vida fortress is a must see - the most well preserved medieval fortress in the whole of Bulgaria. The Belogradchik Rocks are a phenomenal natural wonder that is worth the drive from Vidin. Nice city , very small. In the center parking as usually is a problem. Belogradchik as a town has nothing to offer, but The Rocks and the surroundings are amazingly beautiful. The place should be on everyone's short list, a place to visit at least once in a lifetime. The city has been improving in the last decade. Now it has much more to offer.
