The scenery is beautiful - mountains, lakes, rivers. We enjoyed riding around the wildlife reserve on their bikes to see the animals, especially the muskoxen. The Yukon river is amazing. large and fast flowing. Visited Miles Canyon Suspension Bridge, Fireweed Market, Beringia Interpretive Center, MacBride Museum, Transportation Museum, Carcross, Haines Junction, Kathleen Lake, DaKu Cultural Center, Yukon Suspension Bridge. Dawson city is a fun place to be, especially in the tourist season. There are a surprising number of good restaurants, and Diamond Tooth Gertie’s is always entertaining. There is so much history that you can access wandering around Dawson itself:however; if you want to take a tour of the Canadian heritage locations, book ahead at the tourist info location. People there are really friendly. Tombstone national Park is worth a visit, up the Dempster Highway. If you have rented a car, check with the Car agency first as to whether you can take the car up the Dempster. There is also a tour that will take you there. There are lots of places to stay, and a number of B&Bs. Some of the hotels can be expensive during tourist season, but if you want cheap, clean, and cheerful try the Bunkhouse. There are shared washrooms, but I hardly saw anybody else in them and they were exceptionally clean and well stopped. We went at the beginning of September, and we were treated to a nice display of Northern lights. It is a 7 Hour drive from Whitehorse, but it is worth the effort if you can do itGuest review byMelissaCanada - 10.0
Love Haines Junction. Only small but in a magic location.
Love Haines Junction. Only small but in a magic location. The drive from Whitehorse to HJ is spectacular. If you have the opportunity to take a flight over Kluane National Park Glacier, do so - will be one of the most memorable experiences ever. The Village Bakery is a must on a Friday Night - book online for the Salmon Bake & live music. Their sourdough bread is the best and it's real sourdough!! If you are staying for an extended period, would recommend getting groceries in Whitehorse before arriving in Haines Junction - whilst there is a lovely grocery store there, it is very small. Fuel is available also in HJ. The Information Centre is incredible with helpful staff and there are plenty of beautiful walks.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

From the accurate and yet self-effacing name of the property, we were not sure what to expect. So we were very pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful, modern and spacious full-featured bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Some people may find the lack of interaction with the host to be a bug, but we found it to be a feature, as we are not gregarious. :-) Full marks!Guest review byDomander - 10.0
I liked the location the most. The views were amazing.
I liked the location the most. The views were amazing. The food was very gourmet. Had it been two weeks earlier l think we would have been kayaking as planned. The season was starting to turn and we had already spent extended time in a canoe in Dawson, so we did not experience what we originally planned. The wine and beer selection was good, and pretty well the same as what we experienced all over the territory. After ten days, this was the only location that we were able to see the Aurora. The chairs placed outside, and balconies were all placed well for viewing. Complimentary hot chocolate and firewood were much appreciated.Guest review byBarbCanada - 10.0

Whitehorse has a definite vibe and we could've spent additional time there but we had a schedule so had to stick to it. We barely scratched the surface - there is alot to do in the region and the restaurants we visited were terrific. We loved Burnt Toast, Klondike Rib & Salmon and Woodcutter's Blanket. The people are warm and friendly - and the city is really set in amazing geography!Guest review byAlana - 10.0
I like Dawson City very much.
I like Dawson City very much. It is a very unique small town and has features of a bigger city you wouldn't expect to find, such as fine dining, good coffee, a spa/ vegan restaurant, two well-stocked grocery stores. Of course the big draw at DC is the history. The town has done a good job of presevering its heritage 1890s character with many of the original buildings intact though I would assume renovated. I am a history buff so I was there for the history. My first stop was the Visitors Centre which is excellent. The staff is very helpful and dressed in period garb. There are displays, maps, a Parks Canada desk and four continuously running short films. I booked three tours: a History walking tour, Keno paddlewheeler tour, and Dredge 4 tour. All were excellent. I also did the Top of the World drive as far as the Alaska border, about a 4-hour round trip. Beautiful. I would have driven to Tombstone Park but I was prohibited from traveling up the Dempster Highway in my rental car. I'm sure there are plenty of options for adventurous travelers like paddeling on the Yukon River, mountain biking, hiking, etc. but those aren't really my things. One aspect of Dawson everyone should be aware of is that stores, cafes, restaurants appear to close on a whim. Check with the Visitor Centre on what's open the day(s) you are there so you aren't disappointed. Even then, there were a few sites I didn't get to because they were closed. I highly recommend a visit to Dawson City however you plan on spending your time there. It's a true Canadian treasure.Guest review byAndrewCanada - 8.0

There isn't a lot in Haines Junction, but there is a small grocery store, gas stations and a few restaurants. The views are amazing, and it is in a good location for Kluane National Park - the visitor & cultural centre was interesting and also located in Haines Junction. We ate at 1016 pub which was right next to our hotel, really convenient. There isn't a lot of choice on the menu, but great to grab a burger. We ate here 2 nights, but the first night we waited nearly an hour for food which was disappointing. Outside seating great when weather allows. I enjoyed a 'Caesars' cocktail which I would recommend trying!Guest review by1234CharlotteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

While in Whitehorse we visited the Whitehorse Museum, the Beringia Museum, Miles Canyon and spent a few hours at the hot springs north of town. The museums are fabulous--so much interesting history in the Yukon, The canyon is a short drive from town and is very interesting--there is a suspension bridge over the river and the river runs very fast through the canyon. The hot springs are fabulous but a bit pricey. There are several different pools with varying temperatures, sauna, steam room, and relaxation room. It was welcome after a travel day. We also drove down to Skagway Alaska to see this old gold rush town. There were several cruise ships in port and the town was very busy. The drive from Whitehorse and back was spectacular even in the rain.Guest review byLewis - 8.0
The visitor information was great.
The visitor information was great. Town is clean and done like Klondike days. Stores closed to early by 6:00pm. So walking around sight seeing down the streets have to be early. Just watch for times of restaurants. Two days there is good unless doing outdoor activities. A must see town.Guest review byLindaCanada
