- From $462.49 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 473 reviewsThe hotel's location is very central - on the main street with plenty of shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants around and just 10 min walk from the airport. The venue is really beautiful with its own garden that idyllic and has many tropical fruit trees. The room was of decent size, very clean and comfortable with own balcony overlooking the garden. Plenty of common area space to relax with water available everywhere. We also appreciated the "Honesty Bar" where we could get any drinks or snacks on our own and just write down what we took that was billed at the check-out, including the Nespresso coffee. All the staff were very nice and welcoming, we also got the tour and some history of this hotel that was the very first accommodation many summers back. Many guests previously mentioned dogs on the streets and roosters in the morning, they did not bother us at all... after all, this is how the island is! The dogs are everywhere on Rapa Nui, not only on the street of the hotel and they are very friendly and relaxed. The roosters are more or less the same. The communication before the arrival was very useful with good advice and suggestions. The tours we booked with the hotel in advance also were great and had good value. Overall we definitely would recommend this hotel to stay at. The farewell gifts also found nice place in our home.Guest review byDmi3yItaly
- From $95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,212 reviewsThe people at the front desk were very helpful when I asked where to find things I absolutely loved the location. I can't imagine any hotel having a better location in this city. The view of the ships from my room was amazing. There was I fairly large grocery store one block away! I went there all the time. There were restaurants and a nice park within three blocks. Ice cream cones! Pastry shops! I was also very close to the pier. I kept taking taxis places and soon I learned that a lot of the places I wanted to go were within four or five blocks!. Also my room had a wonderful bathtub! There was only one problem and that was that my debit card did not work when I got there. I used my debit card probably 30 times on my trip around South America and this was the only place where my debit card did not work no matter how hard they tried. Then they told me because I wasn't paying with US dollars I was going to be taxed quite a bit higher. That was frustrating because how was I to get US dollars when I had been traveling for so long??. I really think the problem was the hotels and not my problem. I called my bank and they said there was no problem on their end. I really think they should have paid that tax out of their own pockets rather than mine because they clearly had a faulty machine.Guest review byJanetUnited States
- From $120.19 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 234 reviewsStaff were great even tho we didn’t speak much Spanish at all, they were patient and very helpful. This property is like being at a tranquil resort in the jungle, very beautiful and peaceful. The pools were clean and luxurious. The massages were good however I paid more for a “mixte” massage and it was not strong at all. My cousin got a facial that she loved. Breakfast was amazing but pre-set on the table which really increased food waste and I felt bad for not eating all of it. The WiFi was strong and the smart tv in the room was a plus. We could easily walk to the main square and the Pullman bus station within 15 minutes. There were also bikes you could borrow for free.Guest review byCassidyUnited States

Viña del Mar was disappointing.
Viña del Mar was disappointing. We needed to get to Valparaiso for a cruise and thought it would be too hectic, so opted to stay in Vina del Mar for 4 nights. It was a much bigger, steeper and denser city than we expected, with loud traffic along the coast, making the quiet beach walks we'd imagined out of the question. Then, due to a tragic forest fire (arson) the National Botanic Garden of Chile was basically gone (one main thing we wanted to visit). One of the museums was also closed the day we planned to see it, for a private event. It was still a better choice than Valparaiso probably would have been for a couple of nights before our cruise left from Valparaiso, but not the place we'd imagined. We did get to two good restaurants thanks to our hotel hosts' suggestions. The train along the coast between Viña and Valpo (its nickname) was very efficient and we could have spent more time in Valpo. If we were both able to walk a lot and climb hills, staying in Viña and visiting Valpo more than once would be a good option. We loved our hotel -- see our review of Esencia Boutique.Guest review byKATHLEENUnited States - 10.0

This was a trip of a lifetime.
This was a trip of a lifetime. I recommend everyone to visit Easter island. There is so much to do and see. This is an amazing place to visit. We loved doing the tours around the island and seeing the Moais everywhere and learning about the history of the island. My favorite places were the Quarry, Anakena beach and seeing the sunrise at Tongariki.Guest review byJennyUnited States - 8.0
The town was small and quiet.
The town was small and quiet. If you're traveling during the week or off-season, it's important to know that many restaurants and businesses are closed. However, during the summer and weekends, more shops and businesses are open. If you're looking for a large bustling tourist destination, this is not it. However, if you want a small, quiet town away for the hustle and bustle, then Algarrobo is the place for you.Guest review byKarenUnited States - 4.0
It is an unattractive town in a beautiful place.
It is an unattractive town in a beautiful place. My main reason for stopping was to see the archeological museum, which had very good reviews. The town's web site lists it as an attraction, but it has evidently been closed for weeks or months. Nothing about opening hours or reopening date is posted outside. The web site also lists a tourist information center as open during the day, but it too was closed, and no new hours were posted.Guest review byWilliamUnited States - 8.0

This hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of the cruise terminal. Wonderful views from our room, which was very well equipped with what one would expect from a hotel. Appreciated that the reception people spoke english. Lovely breakfast and good wifi signal. We felt very safe as we explored our surroundings. One thing that was annoying was the fact that you had to purchase tickets to enter the casino to get to the restaurant within. There were no clear instructions on the machine, so had to ask the reception desk a couple of times. We would also suggest that perhaps a sign with english instructions on said machine might be helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay.Guest review byLoriCanada - 8.0
Nice quiet town with beautiful views. Felt very safe
Nice quiet town with beautiful views. Felt very safe Ate at pizzería otra cozza. Excellent pizzas. Getting around is straightforward. Either walking or flagging down a shared cab. I was hoping to find traditional crafts as presents, which unfortunately I could not find. Most things were plastic.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Viña is a lovely coastal town with lots to offer, especially during the summer. We went in winter time, which just makes me wonder how delightful it would be at 30 degrees instead of 6. But the place is clearly beautiful. A must-go, especially being so easily accessible by bus from Santiago. We took TourBus, new and well-equipped bus with plenty of space, which drops you in the heart of the city.Guest review byJuan CarlosHong Kong - 10.0

We were in Valparaiso for three nights, and we could have spent more time looking over the city. We took a trip around the area in the rental car, and with more time, we could have revisited some of the interesting places we drove through. There is a lot to see along the coast. We found good coffee and tasty food being served at Tallers Cafe, and could have made it our local. We didn't see many of the attractions, as we spent time wandering around the city, looking at the street art.Guest review byPeterNew Zealand - 10.0
Leave your watch and sense of urgency behind when traveling...
Leave your watch and sense of urgency behind when traveling to Rapa Nui. Days begin with the sounds of Cocks crowing, the weather is temperate and the night skies are filled with stars. There are a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars for all budget levels (generally moderate priced). BOOK YOUR AIRPORT ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TRANSPORTATION (we did it through our hotel) in advance-taxi's are not abundant. We enjoyed the tours--make sure to see the sunset at Ahu Tahai and the sunrise at Tongariki!Guest review byKENNETHUnited States
