Wrocław is a magnificent city that truly stole our hearts.
Wrocław is a magnificent city that truly stole our hearts. I highly recommend visiting the Dancing Fountains, the stunning Aula Leopoldina at the University, and enjoying a drink on one of the charming islands of the Oder. Don’t miss the magical lantern lighting on Tumski Island about 30 minutes before sunset, and definitely take a boat ride along the Oder. Discover the Opera House and the unique Passage with the Anonymous Pedestrians, sit down for a beer tasting menu at the historic restaurant dating back to 1273, and don’t miss the fascinating “Konspirative” restaurant. Walking through the Old Town is a real adventure – look out for the famous dwarfs, each with its own name and story. The city is full of unique cafés, wine bars, and even café-libraries – I especially recommend the café just opposite the University. Four days were not enough to enjoy everything Wrocław has to offer. You must feel its youthful spirit, meet its friendly people, admire the cleanliness, and be amazed by the incredible architecture. Wroclaw should not be visited, but should be experienced.Guest review byZhivka - 10.0

As a typical mountain resort, Karpacz is a bit more expensive than your usual Polish town. The town itself is very nice, with nice churches and mountain-style houses. I recommend visiting the alpine coaster. The dam is also nice with a nice coffee spot on the top side.Guest review bykarel.dCzech Republic - 6.0

The rainy for days weather, luck of facility like restaurant and spa ( was advertised!) and scarcity of connection with Wifi made my stay not so pleasant. I decided to leave after 2 days ( I paid for 4 days).Guest review byLwelchUnited States - 8.0

Our main reason for choosing Jelenia Góra was the parkrun which takes place in Park Norweski - the team there was very welcoming. We also enjoyed visiting Chojnik Castle and Perla Zachodu restaurant. Once we'd worked out how to use the buses they were very efficient and economical.Guest review byCatherineUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Just a city for old people (which happens to be mostly Germans) which happens to have nice mountains next to it. You can ski there but there is not really lots of roads (?). BUT you can hike there and there is number of nice (pretty easy) trails ready for an easy weekend trip in the mountains.Guest review byŁukaszPoland - 10.0
A town of surprising beauty. Did not see that coming.
A town of surprising beauty. Did not see that coming. A great spring day helps too. Be sure to walk from the toboggan to the Park - both along the promenade... and also up over the hill via the stairs. A tknne of civic pride is evident here.Guest review byJustinPoland - 10.0
Beautiful town, surounded in green, quiet and relaxing.
Beautiful town, surounded in green, quiet and relaxing. Mineral water is great and very good for your health. There several restaurants in town, some of them very, very good offering all sort of choices.Guest review bydmavramBelgium - 8.0

I enjoyed the beautiful views from the viewing towers on the nearby hills (Chelmiec, Borowa, Wzgorze Gedymina). But hiking in this area is not easy. The hills are not very high, but the paths are often very steep and difficult to climb. Restaurants offer a good choice of craft beers. These are generally very good, on contrary to the standard beer production. I can recommend Coolturalna Moontownia (in the old mine area), Zlota Stacja (in the city center) and Jedlinka brewery. At the beginning, I struggled figuring out how to pay for the city transport. In theory, you can buy tickets at the driver but on one occasion the driver was very rude at me when I did not have the exact change. The best possibility is to pay with card. It is easy but first you have to find a special small round black and yellow device, located usually at the middle door. The orange devices around the bus just stamp the paper tickets. The old mine area is fancy and do not forget to visit it if you like industrial sights.Guest review byMarekCzech Republic - 6.0
The Town has good railway and motorway connections.
The Town has good railway and motorway connections. Features a modern Shopping Centre but many buildings in need of major clean, repairs and maintenance. The open Market has a good selection of fresh foods but the area and stalls are in a disgraceful state that reflect an image of uncaring Town administration …Guest review byjohnSpain - 6.0
Zgorzelec is only worth the trip if you are arriving from...
Zgorzelec is only worth the trip if you are arriving from Poland and want to see the German part of the town (Goerlitz) on the other side of the "Neisse" river. Apart from some Restaurants along the river close to the pedestrian bridge (Altstadtbruecke) there is not much to see or to do on the Polish side really. It's just that you can save some money when you are renting your place and eating your food on the Polish side but be careful and crosscheck the prices with your exchange-rate. Some of those Restaurants near the border make a good living off the German "tourists" for which those prices in Zloty seem cheap, but when you are Polish some of them are simply a rip-off. Just walk for another 5 minutes off the regular tourist-trail and you will find good restaurants with normal prices.Guest review byDavid HessePoland
