If you are staying at Astoria Hotel then it's only 5 minutes walk into town. Gorgeous pizza at Lascala restaurant near main square. Beautiful Thai restaurant called Lemon Leaf and omg the macaroons at Mad Rabbit are amazing. Make sure you do all bridges including Charles Bridge as they all have their unique views. Prague must be one of the most beautiful, best-preserved old cities and cultural capitals in Europe. The old town square is magnificent, and I would recommend booking a visit to the Jesuit astronomical establishment called the Clementinum as well (so long as you are able to walk up and down a lot of stairs!). Just walking around the old town is a feast for the eyes. Getting around Prague by subway and tram was easy for English-speakers: just about everything is explained both in Czech and English (only). People are polite and welcoming. Czech food is a little challenging for vegetarians, but that is not a big surprise. My only reservation is that too many of us (tourists) want to enjoy it, while the picturesque old town neighborhoods are pretty small, with narrow streets -- so during tourist season (which apparently still includes mid-September) it feels a bit crowded. (We felt this especially in/at the castle.) But overall, a very worthwhile visit.Guest review byRobertUnited States
