It was soundproof so I didn't hear any noise from the lifts etc. The bedding and pillows were very comfortable as well (not too thin and soft unlike in many other hotels). It was really nice coming back to the hotel after sightseeing in Berlin :) You can reach all the major tourist places on foot, however the hotel is right on the opposite side of the Berlin Ostbahnhof, and from there you can go pretty everywhere in the city. The apartment was in a quiet serene area. Walking distance to Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch. Rewe supermarket within walking distance. Bustop right outside the apartment. Apartment was fully equipped and had all the amenities one may require. Cosy, clean and beautiful. Hot showers, comfortable beds, sun room. I got stolen 30 euros from here by a woman asking or donations to help deaf children.. I meant to give only 10, but she swipped a 20 euro bill out of my hands and refused to give it back. Had to skip dinner because of that! History is amazing, but aside from the historical sites (brandenburg, victory column, cathedral, palace), the city was not pretty at all. Honestly, it looked like Chicago had sprinkles of Washington DC. Using the public transit system is NOT intuitive at all, and I would probably have gotten lost if I didn't meet anyone who spoke english. Metro stations are also lined with scary people who are homeless, on drugs, drunk, etc. City is insanely cold and very windy. If you are a solo female traveler, I would NOT recommend! It’s beautiful to see the city and felt also the pain of what happen in the past. But so happy I finally visited the memorial wall. The Brandenburg gate was amazing to stand tall. So happy to found Burger King and have my chicken nuggets…so many nice restaurants but I don’t know the food so I stick to what’s familiar to me.
