- From US$448.27 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 404 reviewsWe enjoyed a short romantic break. The location was perfect for this purpose. The hotel is located in a beautiful area of the Harz, surrounded by a wonderful forest. However, it was easy to find the hotel and, as we were travelling by car, we were able to easily get around and visit Stolberg, the Rose Park in Sangerhausen and other interesting places. The hotel grounds are also incredibly beautiful. Although the lower park was closed due to the construction of the new swimming pool, our room nevertheless faced the front of the hotel grounds and we enjoyed the view undisturbed. The breakfast and dinner were super lovely with an excellent selection of food. Perhaps the restaurant should consider displaying the wine bottles when they only serve a glass of wine, instead of bringing a glass already filled with wine to the table from outside. The wellness area with swimming pool is excellent. I had a facial and a massage. And it lived up to the highest expectations. I would definitely do it again if I had a longer stay.Guest review byJuliaDenmark
- From US$171.16 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,316 reviewsThe hotel is in a good location beside the cable car station. The price I paid was incredible value for the quality of the facilities and food…the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The four course dinner was very good quality although the portion size could perhaps have been a little larger after a day of hiking. Cake was also provided in the afternoon which unfortunately I missed out as I was out. I also appreciated the travel pass which saved me a lot of money for my bus journey home as well as a visit to nearby Goslar. I was also very impressed by the staff at mealtimes as well as the man at reception who was very welcoming.Guest review byNigelUnited Kingdom

Fantastic town to walk around with oodles of old buildings tastefully maintained/restored. Plenty of opportunity to shop, although is seems this time of year, late September, things are slowing down and not every place is open. Had a great meal at the Zum Bar Hotel, you'll want to dine here at least once!Guest review byPeterAustralia - 10.0

Goslar is a surprisingly beautiful town, boasting thousands of well-preserved medieval houses in its charming Old Town. Its meticulously maintained architecture makes it a unique destination in the Harz mountain region of Germany, offering a perfect blend of history and natural beauty. Take a bus to Oker, where you'll discover plenty of beautiful hiking routes waiting to be explored. It's the perfect starting point for nature enthusiasts looking to experience the scenic trails of the Harz Mountains.Guest review byHuyen NgoGermany - 8.0

Braunlage has a lot to offer, nice walks, and we loved the monster roller activity on the mountain. Puppe's bar is a really nice place to drink. And you have a great choice of nice restaurants. Reservation is required, especially the best rated restaurants on trip advisor are usually completely occupied. You can do some nice shopping too. We visited Quedlinburg, Halberstadt, Goslar, bad Harzburg, Thale and Weringerode, all very beautiful cities/villages. The roads in between these cities are beautiful.Guest review byJuliëtteNetherlands - 10.0

Schierke is a gateway to hiking in the Harz National Park and a stop along the Harz Narrow Gauge Steam Railway. It's quiet, friendly, and well equipped with a grocery store and a variety of restaurants and hotels. We suggest staying at the Pension Drei Elstern.Guest review byHulteen - 8.0

Town is full of history with medieval houses and a hilltop castle that is very popular for German tourists. English is not common, especially in restaurant or their menus, so sometimes difficult for non-German speakers. Great place to visit Harz Mountains hiking areas and the Titan-RT suspension bridge and Dam and the Wendefurth reservoir for boating. Harz Railway Steam train to the Broken Mountain.Guest review byCharlesDenmark - 10.0

I am a history buff, and am quite interested in European history. Quedlinburg, the many narrow cobblestoned streets and wood-framed houses, the great majority of which were fully restored, offers a perfect window into times long past.Guest review byGordonUnited States - 10.0

Goslar is a place we have returned again and again. The town is beautifully preserved with many wonderful halftimbered houses. The city hall and Kaiserpfalz in town are well worth visiting and Rammelsberg is a must see UNESCO world heritage site. A lovely traditional German town Good restaurants, bars etc Good location to explore the Harz Mountains Try the local cable car - for breath-taking views from the top However, the location is now a testimony to global warming and devastation of the surrounding forests If you were a climate denier before - you will not be after a visit - unfortunately Although this should not distract you from visiting the Braunlage area!Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom
