We liked its homey and neatly decorated interiors, the small terrace, which was perfect for having a breakfast in the sun. I was able to get a bus from Tallinn to Risti and the owner was kind enough to pick me up from the bus stop. They also helped me with some translation relating to my family - they were really friendly and helpful! It was a gorgeous spot, surrounded by trees, and the lake and sauna house were wonderful. Great shared balcony spot to sit and watch sunset. They also gave me access to a kitchen to cook in even though the room I stayed in didn’t have cooking facilities. Also, great air con! Beds and comfy. We slept very well. Each room has well equipped kitchen with coffee maker, small fridge/freezer, cooktop. There is also a spacious garden with covered sitting area and a small BBQ. A charming, historical spa resort much favoured by the late 19th/early 20th Century Russian aristocracy, Haapsalu is faded now but still has an elegant charm. The old railway station (sadly disused since 1995), now a museum, was even specially constructed with an imperial pavilion so that the Tsar and his family could arrive and depart without having to wait with the commoners. The Promenaadi on the seafront is beautiful and the ruined castle in the town centre is well worth visiting.
