This was place was absolutely fantastic! The location is stunning, directly on the Nile river inside the Nubian village. The rooms have been recently renovated. The staff was super kind, welcoming and helpful. Last but not least, the food was excellent (probably the best and most authentic we had our whole trip!). We loved our stay and hope to be back in the future.

That was absolutely wonderful stay. Staff was so humble and always attentive. Hisham is a gem of a person, always kind and he is always there for any assistance needed. Wonderful quiet location high up above the town of Aswan with amazing view. Our rooms were in the ground floor with wide terraces and comfy outdoor seating. There was a small pool beside our room which was so refreshing with fluffy towels and sun loungers. The rooms were spacious modern and clean with crisp bed linen, small seating area. Bottles of water provided and plates of fruit and sweet treats refreshed daily. There was a small bar area which served beer, wine etc. Staff were really excellent. An early start one morning we were given breakfast boxes, all ready when we arrived at reception. It was great value for money for2 rooms B&B for 2 nights. Loved it and highly recommend this hotel.

The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It sits high above Lake Nasser with beautiful panoramic views, and it’s only a two-minute ride to the Abu Simbel Temple entrance. The hotel even provides free golf buggies, which made visiting the temples so easy and relaxed. The staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely looked after. Our room was spacious, spotless, and elegantly decorated ( we also got a free upgrade). The bed was extremely comfortable, and small touches like toweling robes, complimentary drinking water, and a turn-down service made it feel really special. Everything looked brand new. The covered seating area outside our room was a lovely place to sit and read while looking out over the lake, and at night we also sat out there viewing the night sky ( great place for star gazing). The infinity pool was another highlight – the perfect place to cool off and take in the incredible views across the lake. The restaurant chef came out to meet us personally and cooked a delicious evening meal, which was such a thoughtful touch. For breakfast, we ordered fresh omelettes, which went perfectly with the selection of pastries, breads, yogurt, honey, and coffee. Staying overnight rather than doing a day trip was by far the best decision we made. It gave us the chance to enjoy the temples peacefully after the day visitors had gone and to return at sunrise, which was an unforgettable experience

The property could not have had a more beautiful view, the whole place was exceptionally clean, the rooms extremely comfortable and the food delicious. The photos really do not do the place justice - located on the peaceful Sahel island and overlooking the nature reserve, there is no place I would rather stay in Aswan! On top of that, Omar went above and beyond to look after us during our stay which was very much appreciated! Including an amazing boat tour around Aswan and a packed up breakfast for our super early morning transfer - couldn’t have asked for anything more! Thank you!!

Visit the temples in the afternoon (after 03.00pm) because the is nobody (except perhaps some extroverted sceaming chinese girls - but once they are gone). Yes, it´s hotter than in the morning and the light is not prefect. but you will have the temple for yourself and you will be able to make perfect photos from inside.

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing.

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing. I stayed in the houseboat for 5 days with my mother. We both feel like we gained a friend in Abdu and hope to see him again one time. He is so kind and caring! Not only did he help us arrange everything in terms of tours (to Filae, Abu Simbel, a Nubian village, the botanical garden and more) and activities (Falluca sailing, Zaraha sand meditation, bird watching trip, exploring the Souk, swimming in the Nile, transfer to Luxor via Edfu and Kom Ombo and more), he also helped us with his second smaller boat to get everywhere, get local products for local prices, assimilate to the local culture by clothing and customs, cooked for us (he also made sure all food was well washed), helped us donate goods and clothes to the local school, and assisted us in getting tickets for the night train from Luxor to Caïro, ATM withdrawals and simcards). We truly think he has a heart of gold and works with honesty not soley for money. His houseboat has everything you need for an authentic stay. Our cabin was spacious enough for the two of us and had an amazing view over the Elephantine Island. The terraces was facing the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island. Due to the placement of the boat you have some shade in the morning and you can enjoy the sunset in the evening. If you look for a real experience and want to dive in the culture and day to day livestyle on the Nile, the boat is definitely something for you. We are truly greatful we’ve met Abdu and can definitely recommend a stay with him on his lovely houseboat. We hope to see him again one day!

The warmth and genuine hospitality of the entire household created a peaceful refuge that allowed me to rest, reflect, and reconnect with what matters. I especially appreciated the loving way they cared for their children, the heartfelt conversations, and their openness to cultural exchange. The bed was super comfortable and the balcony view of the nile was beautiful during sunrise. Hotel can offer roundtrip shared van to Abu Simbel and they provided a packed breakfast. Location is set to more calm side of Aswan blending with the locals. ATMs are nearby as well as few restaurants and many local shops. You can also take the boat for a trip or to the other side of Aswan. Aircon and hot shower were working fine.

We spent a lot of our time just enjoying Elephantine island, which is quite, safe, and very relaxing, compared to much of the rest of what we experienced in Egypt. There is certainly enough to explore in Aswan that one could easily spend several days.

Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking.

Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking. We visited around noon on a blessed day during Ramadan, so there weren't many tourists. At times, it felt like we had the entire sites to ourselves. You can walk or take a transport cart to the sites.

Allow at least 2 full days for Aswan region.

Allow at least 2 full days for Aswan region. It s a great stopover for a break after the madness of the tourist sites. The Nubian village ( with the colored walls, where all the motor boats end up) on the other side of the town has been a place where i could have made local friends if I stayed longer. Of course the money making is also there in the mindset, and it s over touristic but you experience the vib of a local village if you stay overnight there. I suggest Ekadolli guesthouse for location outside the touristic area, still close enough to the village, up a hill offering nice view at the Nil. Nebro Guesthouse is better if you wish to wake up right beside the river, in the heart of the village but quiet enough.

In my case it was a check on my to do list.

In my case it was a check on my to do list. Went from Luxor day one, over night in Abu Simbel town and day 2 visit the tempel for 2 hours, then back to Luxor, a trip 2 x 500 km. Interesting to have seen, impressive story!
