- From $80 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 165 reviewsWe enjoyed an amazing four nights here! Marta and Osama are excellent hosts and available to assist as required. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment. Despite the heat in Aswan the apartment stays quite cool and we were always comfortable. Our children were very happy to play with the pets onsite. The property faces the west bank and overlooks the botanical garden island and sand dunes on the west bank. The view and tranquility is simply delightful. (See photo of view) You should definitely keep some spare days in your schedule to relax and recharge on the island. We also highly recommend getting the boat transfer (small additional fee for this service) as to arrive by the water is a completely different experience to walking the Elephantine island paths. We took a private trip arranged through our hosts to Abu Simbel and also a felucca sail (see photo) which we also thoroughly enjoyed. I am so glad we stayed at the Nubian Lotus- it's a totally different world to the east bank of Aswan and even the east side of Elephantine island which is busier, noisy and has a light pollution at night.Guest review byKhanhAustralia
- From $60 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 5.4Fair - What previous guests thought, 161 reviewsThis is one of the hidden gems of Aswan. To be honest the pictures don't do justice to the hotel. We got a river view room and it had one of the most picturesque views of the Nile and Aswan. The staff was very helpful, and right from checking in to checking out we had such a pleasant experience. The reception can also help with local tours and taxis. The location of the hotel is also ideal and you have access to most facilities nearby (railway station, busses or boats). They even packed us breakfast when we planned leaving early for other destinations in and around Aswan. This was one of the best experiences we had in Egypt.Guest review byMehfuz BasarIndia
- From $76.40 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.2Good - What previous guests thought, 1,517 reviewsI liked the property because the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, even when we arrived at 1:00 AM for check-in. The hotel had everything we needed, and the view of the Nile River was truly beautiful. It’s also very centrally located, which made getting around Aswan easy. What made the experience even more special was that I had accidentally left my sandals behind, and the manager, Amr, kindly sent them to me by courier. That level of care and attention really made a difference.Guest review byDanielaChile

Visit the temples in the afternoon (after 03.00pm) because the is nobody (except perhaps some extroverted sceaming chinese girls - but once they are gone). Yes, it´s hotter than in the morning and the light is not prefect. but you will have the temple for yourself and you will be able to make perfect photos from inside.Guest review byThomasSwitzerland - 6.0

The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing.
The stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing. I stayed in the houseboat for 5 days with my mother. We both feel like we gained a friend in Abdu and hope to see him again one time. He is so kind and caring! Not only did he help us arrange everything in terms of tours (to Filae, Abu Simbel, a Nubian village, the botanical garden and more) and activities (Falluca sailing, Zaraha sand meditation, bird watching trip, exploring the Souk, swimming in the Nile, transfer to Luxor via Edfu and Kom Ombo and more), he also helped us with his second smaller boat to get everywhere, get local products for local prices, assimilate to the local culture by clothing and customs, cooked for us (he also made sure all food was well washed), helped us donate goods and clothes to the local school, and assisted us in getting tickets for the night train from Luxor to Caïro, ATM withdrawals and simcards). We truly think he has a heart of gold and works with honesty not soley for money. His houseboat has everything you need for an authentic stay. Our cabin was spacious enough for the two of us and had an amazing view over the Elephantine Island. The terraces was facing the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island. Due to the placement of the boat you have some shade in the morning and you can enjoy the sunset in the evening. If you look for a real experience and want to dive in the culture and day to day livestyle on the Nile, the boat is definitely something for you. We are truly greatful we’ve met Abdu and can definitely recommend a stay with him on his lovely houseboat. We hope to see him again one day!Guest review byDanjaNetherlands - 10.0

From the moment I arrived, I felt embraced not just as a guest, but as family. The warmth and genuine hospitality of the entire household created a peaceful refuge that allowed me to rest, reflect, and reconnect with what matters. I especially appreciated the loving way they cared for their children, the heartfelt conversations, and their openness to cultural exchange. The meals were nourishing, the environment was clean and safe, and the small, thoughtful gestures—like helping with errands or offering fruit—left a deep impression on me. I was also moved by their humility, sincerity, and the quiet strength with which they manage the responsibilities of life.Guest review byBenton - 10.0

The bed was super comfortable and the balcony view of the nile was beautiful during sunrise. Hotel can offer roundtrip shared van to Abu Simbel and they provided a packed breakfast. Location is set to more calm side of Aswan blending with the locals. ATMs are nearby as well as few restaurants and many local shops. You can also take the boat for a trip or to the other side of Aswan. Aircon and hot shower were working fine.Guest review byRodfoxUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We spent a lot of our time just enjoying Elephantine island, which is quite, safe, and very relaxing, compared to much of the rest of what we experienced in Egypt. There is certainly enough to explore in Aswan that one could easily spend several days.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking.
Abu Simbel is truly breathtaking. We visited around noon on a blessed day during Ramadan, so there weren't many tourists. At times, it felt like we had the entire sites to ourselves. You can walk or take a transport cart to the sites.Guest review byHuyenUnited States - 10.0
Allow at least 2 full days for Aswan region.
Allow at least 2 full days for Aswan region. It s a great stopover for a break after the madness of the tourist sites. The Nubian village ( with the colored walls, where all the motor boats end up) on the other side of the town has been a place where i could have made local friends if I stayed longer. Of course the money making is also there in the mindset, and it s over touristic but you experience the vib of a local village if you stay overnight there. I suggest Ekadolli guesthouse for location outside the touristic area, still close enough to the village, up a hill offering nice view at the Nil. Nebro Guesthouse is better if you wish to wake up right beside the river, in the heart of the village but quiet enough.Guest review byAgnesFrance - 8.0
