- From US$199.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 481 reviewsWe recently had the pleasure of staying at the Akassia Swiss Resort in Marsa Alam – El Quseir and I must say, it was an amazing experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that made me feel right at home. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service provided by Mr.Hosni Abdel Magied, the guest relation manager, an extremely professional and attentive person, ensuring that all our needs were met and that my stay was as comfortable as possible. He went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful experience and all of our group of four truly appreciate his efforts. The resort is situated in a stunning location, right on the Red Sea, with breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding landscape. The crystal-clear waters were perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. The beach was clean and well-maintained, and I enjoyed lounging on the sand and soaking up the sun, as well as near the heated pool in the vicinity of the Pool bar, where we enjoyed the fantastic cocktails expertly crafted. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with a fantastic view of the sea from our beds, with all the amenities I needed to make my stay enjoyable.Every day we came back from the sun bathing we were welcomed by very nice towel ornaments decorated with flowers and purple basil. What a wonderful scent! The food was absolutely delicious and varied, with plenty of options to suit all tastes and the restaurant`s location by the Red Sea made for some of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. We enjoyed local and international cuisine, many types of grilled food, fruits, mouth-wattering deserts, accompanied by a large variety of soft and alchoholic beverages. But what really made my stay at Akassia Swiss Resort so special was the staff. I cannot helped myself not to mention Said, the most friendly and hospitable waiter always eager to assist with anything we needed Overall, our stay at Akassia Swiss Resort was exceptional!Guest review bycristinelRomania
- From US$308 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 678 reviewsWhat I like the most about this hotel is the service of a professional and friendly staff. A day prior to the arrival, Ahmed ElSehemy contacted me to confirm our stay and ask if there are any specific requests. He is very polite/efficient and professional. From the minute we arrived, we have been welcomed with a great service from each and every one in the hotel staff. Thank you. The staff takes every feedback seriously and their response is immediate to improve or accommodate the ask/feedback. This attitude reflects a strong hotel management. The food is exceptional (the best all inclusive I have ever had) and they offer plenty of options / cuisines (Egyptian, Western, Asian, Vegetarian, Italian…). Rooms are very good, spacious, and it gets deep cleaned thoroughly every day. Facilities are plenty , diverse and almost all is free - Tennis (with cost), Football court, billiards (with cost) , .. Pools are enormous and beautifully designed, and well maintained. Beach is a good spot for snorkeling but not the best place for swimming. Chapeau for this hotel to offer such amazing Service in that huge scale. I would be happy to come back to this hotel once more. Thanks again 👏Guest review byMohammedAustralia
- From US$254.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 801 reviewsAn excellent location, a resort with all you need. Starting with welcome to hotel, very fast check in (Mr. Faati at reception), then the room: big, clean (every day they change towels, beach towels too). Food is delicious and diversified, anybody can find something to eat ( salads, hummus, labneh, vegetables, grill, meat, seafood, fruits, soups, etc, etc). Entertainment is nice, people are doing all the best to make clients feel good. At pool bar and hotel bar, they prepare any kind of cocktails and coffes. At the beach, also, they take care of everybody. Reef is amazing. All you need is a snorkeling mask. Water in pool is clean and warm. All my stay was an unforgettable experience from all points of view. At leaving, a manager ask us about our stay, in order to improve whatever is necessary. Very good choice of a vacation.Guest review byGabrielRomania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 379 reviewsI liked everything about Shams Alam Resort. The food was excellent, with a lot of variety including gluten-free bread, and desserts. The location was great too, fairly close to famous diving spots like Sharm El Luli and Dolphin Reef. The hotel has good facilities, like wellness center with hairdresser, an exceptional organic essential oil shop with lots of other authentic Egyptian art and souvenirs. The hotel receptionists are very helpful with booking trips and taxis. There is also a diving center and they make trips to beautiful reefs such as Hamadi islands and other amazing snorkling /diving spots. I loved absolutely everything. Don't expect a brand new hotel, it is one of the oldest hotels in Marsa Alam but well taken care of. Old but gold!Guest review byDirkBelgium
- From US$155.65 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 549 reviewsThanks for the warm welcome! All resort staff are friendly and always ready to help. Special thanks to Mr. Korashi (manager on reception), Mr.Ahmed( manager of the restaurant), Mr.Osman( chef cook). The hotel Three Corners Happy Life is located on the first line from the sea. From the pontoon you can observe a beautiful underwater world that amazes with a variety of fish, and of course corals. The territory of the resort is well-groomed, a lot of greenery to trees. The hotel offers all inclusive. The cuisine, very tasty and varied with many fruits and sweets. Everyone will find their corner of happiness at the Three Corners Happy Life Resort 😊 Thank you! And I hope to see you soon! Olga OdessaGuest review byOlgaUkraine

Huge choice of local and international meals and food, all prepared with lots of taste and flavour. Staff was very friendly and helpful. And amazingly they give a very personal touch to the service. This hotel has its own house reef for diving and snorkelling. In short exquisite place for anyone looking for a fantastic holiday at the red sea.Guest review byjohanBelgium
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 63 reviewsWe stayed in the tent and chalet. It’s a different experience but both are wonderful. Everything centred around and well organised for guests to enjoy underwater life to the max. The concept attracts a certain type of clientele, mostly divers, who are not there to party and make noise but to enjoy and respect nature. Wonderful to disconnect.Guest review byjaydFrance

Some places offer excellent takeaway food.
Some places offer excellent takeaway food. There is a public beach a little further away (a short walk across a small desert area) with exceptional underwater flora and fauna. Bring shoes for walking in the water. Please stay above or near the coral (personally, I didn't know there were risks to swimming too far from the reefs, namely sharks. But I didn't see any. On the other hand, there were some exceptional fish! Port Ghalib is a tourist spot but much, much quieter than Hurghada. If someone tries to sell you something, just say ‘La, chokram’ with a smile and everything will be fine. Don't forget to tip a little, as Egyptians earn very little (around €400 per month for a family of four). For activities, I recommend Royal Sea Tours (royalsea-tours.com), who are really great. I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea...
I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea goes. My favourite place of all time is the Concorde Moreen Hotel, with the Hilton coming a strong second. We only ate at the hotels, because our time was limited. I used the taxi service offered online by Booking.com, which I found to be very efficient and reasonable. But I am also a seasoned traveller in Egypt and do not find it difficult to negotiate with taxi drivers. (It can be very useful to ask Chat GPT first what an average trip should cost you, if you are unsure, and then use that as a guideline for your negotiations.) It's an amazing experience to go out on a boat, but picking the right one can make the difference. I will be leaving my review on our experience separately (as it warrants a whole story on its own :))Guest review byAnnie RuurdsSouth Africa - 10.0

Very quiet town, simple and the sea is amazing. You can swim anywhere. No so much facilities ( food places, supermarkets,..) and pharmacies located around hotels. Weather is hot, limited gas stations and road is not preferable to be taken at night.Guest review byMennaEgypt - 4.0

The sea was beautiful. Unfortunately strong winds kept me from going into the sea. We stayed mostly in the lagoons. There was no access to sea from the beach, only from the pier. The life guards were good and attentive.Guest review byRolandSwitzerland - 8.0

"I did not leave the grounds of the Iberotel Costa Marès.
"I did not leave the grounds of the Iberotel Costa Marès. There are already so many wonderful things to do like snorkeling, diving, massages and especially the many activities offered by Captain Mahmoud's extraordinary team and the high quality shows performed in the evening. All the staff are adorable, attentive, attentive both on the beach and by the pool as well as in the various restaurants, not to mention the maintenance staff and gardeners, the cooks, the waiters (mention special for Ahzem from the main restaurant, Abd Allah at the pool restaurant, Mostafa who is part of Mahmoud's team, Hod Hod on the beach and many others of whom I don't really know the spelling of their first name. are all very courageous, with a sense of humor and kindness like I have rarely seen. Everything is put in place so that you only want to do one thing... come back as quickly as possible."Guest review byValérie LannoyBelgium - 6.0
I mentioned everything in my review, what I liked and didn’t...
I mentioned everything in my review, what I liked and didn’t like. Mainly, I noticed that someone bought a quad bike tour, and they were taken just a little way behind the hotel to ride on a pile of sand for a short while. There was trash and plastic all around, a complete wasteland—nothing pretty. I’m used to greenery, which I understand is lacking in this destination, but I definitely wouldn’t buy an overpriced camel or quad bike tour. Especially because, in that heat, it wouldn’t be an enjoyable experience for me, and with the trash around, definitely not. I did a diving trip, but it ended up being canceled. Unfortunately, they made us leave our things (like backpacks) in a place where locals were moving around, and we had no way to secure them. The original plan was that we would be on a boat. In the end, it didn’t happen, and that was probably for the best. I booked the trip through Booking. I had no particular expectations, even though we were supposed to see dolphins. Eventually, I arranged for diving, and I enjoyed it. Since I’m already a diver, it was easy, but when I saw how they even turn diving into a business, it bothered me. I saw parents forcing their 12-year-old daughter to try diving. She was crying, didn’t want to do it, but the father insisted because it was paid for. I watched her struggle and feel uncomfortable. It saddens me to see that everything can be bought with money, and that’s just wrong.Guest review bySmile08Czech Republic - 8.0
