Really lovely location Quiet
Really lovely location Quiet Good local bars/restaurants even in November Long beach to walk along Quaint squares with children's playgrounds and bars etc Easy to walk around, downhill to the beach, then flat rest of the way Parking limited, but we didn't have a problem Quite a lot of steps plus handrails, for better views Nearest bar, downhill, was excellentGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Las Negras is a small and unspoiled village.
Las Negras is a small and unspoiled village. Everyone was welcoming and friendly and although it was predominantly Spanish speaking, communication was relatively easy. There is plenty to do around the immediate area of Las Negras with unspoilt beaches and water based activities but we also enjoyed trips to Almeria, Carboneras and Mojacar, all of which are worth seeing. We had a really lovely time.Guest review byAnneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Rodaliquar is a lovely white village with artistic touches and some great restaurants, cafes and bars. It also has an amazing history of gold mining and now a lovely museum, cafe and shop, as well as Botanic Gardens. Well worth a visit. And Samambar is a superb quality restaurant.Guest review byAmandaSpain - 10.0
El Cabo de Gata is amazing!
El Cabo de Gata is amazing! It's one of my favourite places in Spain. It's a natural park with lots of cosy small towns and most beaches are set in a natural landscape so you have to make sure you take your own food and drinks with you, depending on which beach you choose. My favourite ones were playa El Cabo de Gata, playa Las Salinas, and of course Los Genoveses and Monsul (you have to get there really early in the morning to get a spot because they have controlled access during the summer). We did snorkelling and I wish I had better equipment with me because there are lots of fishies under those waters and they come really close to you! And I highly recommend doing a boat tour. We took our from Playa de las Salinas and we got in a small motorboat and had a ride around El Cabo. We had a guide who explained what we were seeing, had a stop for a quick swim and got an adrenaline rush! One last thing, if you go to El Cabo de Gata, please don't litter.Always take your rubbish with you. It crushed my heart to see the amount of rubbish people leave behind. There were lots of plastic bags, cans, cigarette buts and all sorts of rubbish.Guest review byTeresaGC86Spain - 10.0

Great town, especially in the more tranquil times of the year. We were able to enjoy the local restaurant's and bars without having to wait or make a reservation. The beaches were quiet and nearly empty. It was easy for us to walk to and from our lodging.Guest review byJoanDNMUnited States - 6.0

The restaurant across the street was very good but not open in the evening (Saturday mid-January). The location is great for spaghetti western film shoot sites sightseeing. Not many places to eat out in the evening ( January ).Guest review byPaulBelgium - 10.0

San Jose is a great little town with lots of bars and restaurants and shops. It is perfect for families looki kg to get away for the weekend and close to their beautiful towns. The beach is nice (it’s not the most beautiful or famous but it’s a beach with showers and toilets) . We love coming hereGuest review byalyssaSpain - 8.0
Very quiet village when we visited.
Very quiet village when we visited. We enjoy walking and Las Negras is an ideal base. There are a number of secluded beaches nearby that can only be reached on foot. A car is definitely needed as the village only has one small shop for groceries although it is well stocked. Out of holiday season there are only limited eating options. We enjoyed the fried fish platter at La Palma. It wouldn't appear to be very suitable for children - the beach at Las Negras itself is very pebbly. The surrounding area is incredibly scenic.Guest review byangelaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Marc and his family always give us a good, honest welcome.
Marc and his family always give us a good, honest welcome. The hotel is peaceful and spotlessly clean with ample car parking spaces. The food is first class, nicely presented and delicious. It is obvious that it is run by a family not paid employees. We will be back again next year.Guest review byGeraldUnited Kingdom
