Excellent location in the old town by the beach, with easy access to some good restaurants nearby. Many were closed for winter but the Italian restaurant next door was a saviour. Breakfast is simple but thoughtful, with fresh made-to-order eggs. Genuinely helpful staff, dog friendly, comfortable bed and pillows, secure parking, mini walk-in wardrobe area and ample power plugs by the bed for all your tech gadgets.

Everything was of high quality! Fast check-in, on the reception I got all necessary info at arrival in spite of late hour. All hotel staff is extremely helpful and very friendly + they are many so everything in hotel happens magically fast and unnoticeable for guests! The hotel has very cosy and tasteful lobby with various events in the evening + bar with very good assortment of drinks and beverages at reasonable price. I do love “adult only” concept! Breakfasts were great with nice assortment - dieting, vegan, vegetarian, food with good nutrition, local specialities, fruits, juices and fresh, champagne and chocolate fountain at the entrance, ice cream and really good coffee! Assortment was varying from day to day, so you’ll not get bored of the same food if you stay longer than weekend. The outdoor pool was clean and nice, with cosy and style sunbathing area. I stayed for 3 nights and I saw at least 2 water sampling for water quality analyses despite of low season and far from full capacity of the hotel + area around pool was regularly cleaned and inspected. Last but not least, the hotel has facilities that fit for people with physical disorders and staff that is willing to assist and help. also, they have very good routines wrt. protection against corona and other viruses (regular cleaning with cleaning agents (even floor in the lobby was cleaned with cleaning agent + they have warning signs that they widely use under cleaning to avoid pity incidents), antibacterial spray all over the hotel’s facilities etc.). Lastly, amazing interior perfume is being used at the hotel, so I enjoyed this fantastic smell every time I entered the lobby. I will definitely come back!

The situation is perfect - 15m from the beach. Room was very clean, with everything one could need. comfortable bed, good lighting, fridge which really was cold! Parking was very convenient - made the stay very easy. Staff were very friendly, helpful and the woman on the reception when I arrived couldn't have been more helpful - sorting storage for bike and parking for car etc. Restaurant staff were also very friendly.

Secluded Coves and Beaches in Droves

A beautiful part of Spain characterised by rocky coves and laidback life, the Costa Brava is set against the backdrop of mountains. Its 3 most famous resorts are Blanes, Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar, all home to several Costa Brava hotels on the beach.

The southernmost – Blanes – has the longest beach, while Tossa curves around a bay overlooked by a fort and medieval walls. Lloret has the most lively nightlife, with casinos, bars and restaurants staying open until the early hours.

However, the less known Costa Brava resorts also make great holiday destinations. Platja d’Aro has a long, sandy beach, while next door Sant Feliu de Guixols is centred around a small harbour. In Llafranc bay, turquoise water contrasts beautifully with the golden sand and rugged rocks.

Further north is l’Estartit where practically every hotel and apartment complex on Booking.com has its own pool, while L’Escala has access to lovely Blue Flag beaches. North, the landscape flattens out and a long beach goes all the way to Roses with its large marina. Around the headland is Cadaques, home to a Dalí museum in a house where he once lived.

    For those with a sense of adventure, a love of nature - hiking, the ocean, the birds etc, this spot is an oasis. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was ample, and tasty - with a mix of classic and creative dishes. We loved the half board option. Here you can buy a bottle of wine and they will keep what you don't drink for you for the next day. The hiking in the area is wonderful with blooming roses, lavender and other flowers along the path in April when we went, and though a bit cold for the pool when we were there it was perfect for hiking. The reviews for this hotel are very mixed because the road in, the isolation, and the wifi that didn't extend everywhere on the grounds are not for everyone. For instance if you drive in in a car that sits very low with low profile tires you are going to be unhappy. If you are there to surf on your phone you will be disappointed. But if you go for the reprieve from ordinary life and put the phone down, you will find yourself not wanting to leave this little piece of paradise.

    We only stayed one night but for the price we paid, it exceeded our expectations. The food was simple but really well presented and cooked well. The outdoor pool was great, clean and being early in the season didn't put the kids off even though it was cold. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were really comfortable and the bedroom simple but spotless. We paid £51 for half board and honestly, for the price, it was exceptional value. The location was handy enough, being a really pleasant 10 mins walk to the beach and set back a little from the really busy streets. Being so close to the bus station made it the perfect first night when we arrived in Lloret. We'd be happy to go back again.

    It's a lovely resort beach is great.

    It's a lovely resort beach is great. Beach beds expensive 8 euro each for bed and brollies regardless of time you arrive on beach, so for two of us it cost 24€ a day. The boat around to Tossa de Mar is a good trip. We wanted to do a day in Bracelona but didnt realise you have to book the public bus at the bus station 2 days before so we were very disappointed as we left this till our last day. We went to visit the local cathedral but its not open to the public which was a let down. There are lovely bars and restaurants to choose from - prices for food and drink around same price as UK. Overall a lovely clean resort, very pretty.

There is a lot of history in the area you can visit the museum at the citadel and the neighbouring town of Castello de Emporium. If you like Salvador Dali you can visit his home in the qaint Village of Carques & the museum at Figueres. All very pretty towns. Everyone I met was enjoying themselves. You can have a very relaxing holiday in an area which is unspoilt.

    Everything was perfect.

    Everything was perfect. The location is fantastic in close proximity to great shops, restaurants, the beach and a castle. The staff were helpful with parking our car and making us an early picnic breakfast because we had to leave early. Be sure to arrange that when you check in. Everything was in walking distance. Our friends enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. The evening dinner was awesome and the staff were super friendly there too!

    There is a great range of restaurants and shops in Platja d'Aro which made it ideal for us now that we no longer want to spend a long time on a beach or swimming in the sea. The beach is not ideal for swimming because the sand is very soft and at our age it was difficult to keep our footing. I could have got into the sea and swum, despite the steepness of the sand. Getting out would have been very difficult indeed and probably dangerous.

    A beautiful, little town.

    A beautiful, little town. The port is lovely and it's fun to walk around the little streets and discover hidden corners. The church is lovely with great views of the town and ocean. We took a boat trip around the coast, seeing all the little coves and stopping for a quick swim in one of them.

    Really loved the town - visited several restaurants, a few without looking online to see reviews, and they were all excellent. The beach was lovely and the bay water clear and wonderful to swim in mid October. Great hikes along the coast to neighbouring towns/beaches.

    The town is not very big or crowded, which suited us. However, it has enough stores and restaurants. It has a wide and uncrowded beach. A very big advantage for those traveling by car is the large number of free parking spaces. Parking lots are located from 100m to 300m from the beach. Neighboring towns fare worse in this respect. The advantage is access to the suburban railroad, which took us to Barcelona for a day's sightseeing. In the summer, two amusement parks were available in Blanes (one near the parking lot - large, the other closer to the port). We missed the e-bike rentals. We had to go to a neighboring town to rent them. We did not use the clubs, so we do not judge their quantity or quality. We could certainly return to Blanes someday when there is an opportunity.

    An attractive small town with a selection of good...

    An attractive small town with a selection of good restaurants and shops. Pleasant to walk around narrow streets with no cars. Close to some lovely beaches and walks in the surrounding forests. Well worth a visit.

    An extremely windy area.

    An extremely windy area. It is suggested to skydivers and wind surfers. No way to spend the all afternoon on the beach; too windy. Not interesting activities for young people and teenagers. A bit boring. Great choice of restaurants and bars

    Quant little village on the water, solid restaurants and nice small shops. Convenient and open all hours. Liked the SPA market for fresh produce you can carry home . Lovely lazy beach, good for swimming. Truly relaxing.
