A major selling point was the free sauna, convenient location in the town where I had my business meetings and the great reviews about the breakfast. Upon arrival at Backby I was transported to a fairy like destination. The landscaping, the buildings, the air that was pure and fresh. Everything felt magical. I slept soundly in the firm single bed and enjoyed a superb breakfast buffet the next day! Even more special the sun was out in all it glory on my second day so I was able to enjoy breakfast on the terrace with a view of the lush Finnish forest. I sat outside for two hours in the sunshine enjoying a three- course breakfast of fresh berries with yoghurt, bread and pastries with sausages, and specially made hot chocolate! Apartment is new and well equipped for two. Within 10-15 min drive there is everything from shopping to nature trails, golf etc. Host is kind and helpful, I much appreciated earlier check in and later check out. There is ni wi-fi as mentioned in description. The only thing I had problem with was dishwasher. The water was closed snd it took me quite some time to realize it. We stayed in Espoo for one night,then stayed four in Helsinki. It was the best way of enjoying the snow (being Irish it is a novelty )and enjoying the peaceful forest surrounding the hotel. It was a great start to our christmas break before going into the city. It was magical and I did a morning hike around the grounds of the hotel. Good place to visit with kids.
Good place to visit with kids. Easy hiking tracks nearby in Porkkalaniemi and nice children's public parks in the city center, next to Kirsikka shopping center. Local Bistro O Mat was wonderful! Don't forget to visit the cute little Rehndahl animal farm.Guest review byElinaFinland - 10.0

I like the countryside landscape.
I like the countryside landscape. Driving the back roads in a clear autumn day is always a pleasure. Visited quite often the Porkkalaniemi outdoor recreation area and Meiko nature reserve. The landscape includes forest, sea/lake, and rocky shores.Guest review bySorin67Finland
