I began my stay in Suva with two days of leisure activities, staying on for another five days to run a workshop with participants from 6 countries from the region. They are have great facilities like a gym, and a rooftop bar. The rooms are clean, and spacious. What made our stay extremely special is the staff, most notably Vasemaca in the reception. Bura was just the right size for a couple, it was clean and the bed was so comfortable, fresh towels when needed tea and coffee facilities provided staff were so friendly and helpful. It was located off the main road but if you needed a lift to road staff would take you , anything you needed just ask !!!! I could see the indian culture and roots. Overall Fiji is excellent destination but due to wrong resort selected my whole vacation got spoiled. You must check the review before selecting property. Lots of food options.
Lots of food options. Go to the market for local food and coconut water. Malls located all over the main Suva shopping and eating area close to the market and within walking distance from each other. Parking is a humbug and best you park on the multi storeyed parking lots for shopping malls. They can be expensive so plan what you want to do before making the journey to Suva. I enjoy getting far away from the tourist crowds when I travel to the islands, especially to see the people of the land and their way of life. Lautoka is an awesome place to get an insight of the beautiful Fijian culture, its people and community, and the real Fiji. Clean Beaches, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, lots of family friendly activities- day and night and amazing staff at all the resorts we visited. Polynesian nights with lovo Dinner, held at resorts - Ultiqa fiji palms monday night, uprise beach resort Thursday night, Pearl resort friday night, is not to be missed. Pizza night at Ultiqa, indian buffet night next door at Pearl resort. Navua river rafting with village visit and waterfall. Fresh fruits and vegetables on roadside market stalls. A beautiful beach spoilt by floating litter and rubbish in the water. I have seen this often around the world and understand that it is a side effect of a bigger issue. Overall, it was a great trip. Several onsite restaurants catered to all types of palette, friendly staff, good food and beautiful resort. Lagoon water was warm and great for a light swim/dip.
