- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 60 reviewsThis was our third stay. Everything that we wanted; quiet, calm although we decided to go close to the end of the season when I feel that the island must be very busy. Expensive but exclusive - apologies if that sounds snobbish - and I think that is also a huge draw for some. Main residents and visitors are Italian and French. The staff are amazing and I really want to highlight those who took particular care of us - Joe from Sardinia, Victor from Monpelier, Luca from Rome and the lovely lovely Barbera our wonderful house keeper. They made everything so much better - if that were possible. This place is our idea of paradise.Guest review byAlisonUnited Kingdom

Ajaccio is a lovely small town with lots to see and do, considering its size, and especially if you can move in the surrounding areas as well. Corsica is a really beautiful island. I recommend renting a car and driving around - there are some really exciting routes you can take with endless amazing scenery. Try the road from Piana to Porto if you can. It's breathtaking.Guest review byJyrkiFinland - 10.0

There are two parts to the town - harbour front about 5 mins walk; citadel about 15-20 mins walk. It is steep uphill to citadel but there are routes that smooth out the walk. Old town is scenic with lots of restaurants doing Corsican food - quite competetive on pricing as a result so you can get 3 courses for €26 and the place is buzzing in the evening. Harbourside has fewer restaurants and more typical sea side food. If you hire a car, it will likely be electric. The main charging points are at the Auchan supermarket about 2km north of Porto-Vecchio. Despite the beaches to the south, eg Palombaggia, being more famous we found Pinarellu to the North as a great beach locationGuest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We loved the concert at the church, walking around the Bastion, strolling around the harbor, taking boat to Lavezzu Island where we walked the trails. We enjoyed several meals in Bonifacio. All tasty. The guide for city walk from tourist office was knowledgeable.Guest review byDianeUnited States - 8.0

A lovely small town with a nice vibe and plenty of options to get out on the water and explore the coast. The town is great but also easy to get up into the hills for fabulous walks with wild goats and amazing views. A lovely combination of beach/sea and mountain/ forests. We'll be back next year!Guest review byJulietteUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Location ideal for touring Southern Corsica.
Location ideal for touring Southern Corsica. Evening sunsets were beautiful. Many good restaurants for evening meals.. particularly enjoyed Riva Bella and Dolce Mare. Car parking was good on the port side and the barrier was up when we left after our evening meals. Appeared to be numerous boat trips available if required.Guest review byMalcolmFrance - 6.0

Porticcio is very touristy, it has a beach yes (but a very urban view), can get crowded. There are other beaches 10-15minutes drive from apartment that should be explored and have nice views. We visited A Cupulata - turtle mini zoo which was a nice experience just 25 min drive. The best supermarkets are outside Ajacio, like Carrefour, Eleclerc and Geant Casino, I found the small supermarkets near Porticcio more expensive.Guest review byClaudiaPortugal - 8.0
Very pretty village, with a really interesting history.
Very pretty village, with a really interesting history. Quirky and lots of flowers. Narrow and steep streets, very little signage, hard to navigate with a car. Parking is a problem. Restaurants are adequate, but nothing special. One supermarket (thank god!), but no fish! One baker. One pharmacy. Everything was overpriced. Had the feeling they were reliant on tourists in the summer months, and resented it. Not as friendly as the South of France where everyone responds to your 'Bonjour' when you enter a shop.Guest review byHelenFrance - 10.0

This is a charming mountain town perched on the top of a ridge. it is great town to stroll around and learn about its history. the Saturday market in the plaza is fun and you will get real artesian products (food yum). the real trill about being in the area are the hikes. if you are into it book yourself a few nights so yo can go explore.Guest review bySergioUnited States - 10.0

The beaches to the south are long, quiet and have stunning water to swim in. The town has plenty of restaurants to choose from and the food is amazing. Be sure to polish up your French before travelling as it is really appreciated. A car is essential if you wish to explore.Guest review byEmmaUnited Kingdom - 4.0
The traffic and the motorbikes were the main problem .
The traffic and the motorbikes were the main problem . We chose the south of the island as we knew it was difficult to get about . Our hotel was only 4.5 kilometres to the town but what a nightmare getting there . I took 45 Mins and then nowhere to park , We have both ridden bikes when we were young but we were horrified by the constant weaving in and out of traffic at speed . Lots and Lots of bikes . I can understand why because it is gridlock most of the time . Our Friends had booked a hotel in the middle of Ajaccio having flown in and after three day hired a car from the airport and explored south of the island . They walked every where in the town and took the tourist bus which would have done if we could have got to it . It was n to our best island adventure we won't be backGuest review byLynneBerryUKFrance
