This is a perfectly situated hotel overlooking a gorgeous white sandy bay with that beautiful blue Brittany water. It’s a very stylish , un fussy but comfortable interior and we loved it because it was clean lines ( think no dried flowers or air fresheners but top quality fittings). Our view was from the side but it still gave us a beautiful aspect and overall this was our favourite stay on our trip, so much so we stayed x 2 nights. Lovely Michelin guide restaurant 5 mins walk away. Staff really lovely- overall, a clear 10… I wish I was still there.

We found Dinan to be a beautifully kept quiet and picturesque area just outside of the main tourist areas of Dinard and St Malo. There is an abundance of things to do and great opportunities to enjoy fine cuisine and an endless supply of magnificent wine and spirits. Road and rail connections are available nearby and its a great base to explore Brittainy. One of the most notable attractions is Mont Saint Michel, an abbey that has stood for more than 1000 years. There are hotels to suit all pockets in easy reach some of which are overlooking the beach. Dinan also has its own small airfield where a warm welcome awaits for Private pilots. It may also be possible to arrange a pleasure flight from where you could enjoy spectacular aerial views of the Norman and Brittainy coastlines.

Saw puffins and gannets on very reasonably price boat trip to Sept Iles. Lovely walking around the port in the evening, especially if you are impressed with the dramatic daily tidal differences. Saint Brieuc is a lovely town in this part of Brittany.

Saint Brieuc is a lovely town in this part of Brittany. It's big enough to have a great selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. Hotels too. Yet, it's small enough you can get out of it into the lovely Breton countryside easily enough. Not overtly touristic, but there are plenty of nice places around to visit and cycle to. A walk down to Le Legue through the Parc de la Vallée de Gouédic was a lovely start to the day. Within a short drive you can get to Binic and Paimpol, or the other direction to the magnificent beaches at Val Andre.

They also sold us a 'blue badge, for the parking (2 euros) which you use for your parking time. This badge can be used in blue parking areas throughout France. A friendly town, marvellous local produce, excellent market on Thursday and dining was excellent . An easy relaxing picturesque location. My third visit for the Dartmouth Paimpol Cross Channel Regatta . The marina staff are exceptional and the Hotel Goelo was a good choice to relax in after busy days and long late dinners. Recommend L'Escale , Terre Nuevos and Le Criee to eat at - the standard of service at each was superb and the food delicious.

As a family we loved Trebeurden.

As a family we loved Trebeurden. It took a couple of days to get under the skin of the place, as it is not a traditional layout - there are quite a few beaches which are good for different activities, we spent time on the main beach by the harbour, and on the beach with changing rooms and a small pancake parlour looking out to the islands. There's another lovely beach on the edge which is used for watersports. The rocks are a big feature of the town and our teenagers loved climbing up them. There are plenty of places to drink/eat. We were there in August and there was a lovely 'fete de la mer' on our last night, with a band and local beer and seafood and a few stalls.

We were very impressed with Paimpol & the surrounding area, both coastal & inland, but in full season it could be very difficult to get around & park. There are plenty of shops & restaurants but we only ate home-cooked food. The ruined Abbey de Beauport is well worth a visit, with lovely coastal walking areas in and around the grounds. It also had excellent parking & a cafe. We would recommend a stay in Paimpol but not in the full holiday season.
