We chose to eat in the restaurant the set menu which was perfect. 4 courses from the menu plus 2 complimentary everyone presented with such detail. We stayed 1 night and enjoyed the tranquility. The room was big, well-equipped, clean, and with nice views of the forest. The place was quiet. Poitiers was our chosen night stop as we drove North toward St Malo. We were there just for the night and left fairly soon after breakfast. We did manage to walk around the main town area after checking in that evening and it was full of interesting architecture. The main centre is closed to traffic and has many restaurants, cafe's and bars, creating a safe and easy ambiance, which I'm sure we would have enjoyed had more time been available.Guest review byTimothyJersey - 8.0

Although it appears off the beaten track it is on the RN10 and just 10 minutes or so from the A10 north of Poitiers. It was reachable in one day's drive from Calais. In the village we found a superb take-away pizza place with a wood-fired brick oven. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. We couldn't have been more pleased with this location for a stop over on route to and from the Pyrenees. Our Hotel was on a golf course with lovely grounds in a very tranquil setting. We ate in our Hotel, which also had a lovely terrace bar. Futurescope was a big disapointment to all my family. who's ages ranged from 5 to 82 years. The queues were anything up to 2 hours, and what was then particularly galling. V I P visitors were able to jump the queue to lengthen your wait. Some of the rides/shows were good , but one reallity ride we went on was past it's sell by date with the motions harsh and bruising.
