- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 57 reviewsHighly recommend! Absolutely adorable place. My family stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage and had a wonderful time. Kitchen had all the usual amenities and we were able to cook when we wanted. There are 2 markets within walking distance where you can pick up most of what you need. The little garden area around the cottage was gorgeous. This place definitely has a wonderful cozy cottage vibe that we loved. Camel and Celine were extremely nice and very accommodating. Also, there's a cat named Guess and if you treat him/her well, they become your cat for the vacation.Guest review byAlexandraUnited States

We only came for the palace visit and the garden walks.
We only came for the palace visit and the garden walks. Best to book the palace tour in advance and Mondays only the gardens are open. It will cost for a family. The gardens are great albeit very formal but now electric buggies are provided for a cost which are a bit of a nuisance and noisy and look a bit unhealthy as nobody walks any more. The boating lake is fun and there is a very pleasant restaurant in the gardens for drinks and food. Its bigger than you think and can take many hours to explore.Guest review byJulianUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It is the right place if you are the middle guy, not too city-type person but also doesn't like if it's too village. Public transportation is easy and reachable. There is also a big shopping mall to find some stuff.Guest review byID_travelerDenmark - 10.0

Plaisir has managed to preserve its twelfth century church.
Plaisir has managed to preserve its twelfth century church. Its varied territory is characterised by large agricultural plains, many green spaces and a forest area that together occupy half of its surface. It’s served by two stations on the Transilien Paris-Montparnasse suburban rail line: Plaisir – Les Clayes and Plaisir – Grignon.Guest review byJocelynSweden - 10.0

It's a very smart upmarket town with delightful shops. The Friday Market in central square was just wonderful. The Chateau and surrounding parkland are beautiful with spectacular views of the River Seine and Paris. Wonderful transport connections (train or bus) to Versailles or into central Paris - we stayed here but it would also make a great day out.Guest review byFrancesUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Very historical site . Town Centre:
Very historical site . Town Centre: Quaint streets, traditional French cafés, bakeries, and small boutiques give the town a cozy, authentic vibe. The Saturday market is vibrant and a perfect spot for local produce and regional specialties. Bergerie Nationale: Originally established by Napoleon, this national sheepfold is now a working educational farm. Great for families and those interested in sustainable agriculture or animal husbandry. Rambouillet Forest (Forêt de Rambouillet): One of the largest forests near Paris, it’s a paradise for hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers. Wildlife, well-marked trails, and serene lakes make it a great escape from city life.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

St Quentin en Yvelines / Montigny-le-Bretonneux is a convenient location to visit Versailles and the trains can take you directly to Paris. The journey is about 40-50 minutes. However, the centre of St Quentin en Yvelines is not exactly pretty with apartment blocks and mid-rise buildings in abundance. Limited restaurants. Loads of parking.Guest review byDougUnited Kingdom - 8.0

There was lots to do in the area, and the public transport was awesome. We purchased a weekly pass for the busses and trains, and it was so good. We really got our monies worth. I used Google Maps, and it was so effective in planning our routes wherever we went. Lots of markets in the area, and some lovely little shops to visit. Nice and close to the Chateau of Versailles and the gardens. Even just walking around the streets, is beautiful.Guest review byDanielleAustralia - 10.0

Poissy is a great location to stay in, around 35 minutes from Paris, good distance from other places like Giverny. It is very easy to get to, the area isnt busy, the Metro station has links to many places as well as easily getting into Paris. This is my third time staying in Poissy and hopefully wont be the last. I would definitely recommend Poissy.Guest review byAhmer RasoolUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Versailles Palace is very well managed considering the...
Versailles Palace is very well managed considering the visitor numbers. There are timed entrances. Well worth paying for the extra private guided tours, especially Marie Antoinette's private apartments. We would strongly recommend staying overnight in Versailles to avoid the rush hour trains in and out of Paris. If you arrive at the Palace from 0800 you can walk around the side of the palace entrance and view the gardens before the crowds arrive. With an 0900 entry timeslot you can get straight to Hall of Mirrors before the crowds and then retrace steps of rooms you sped through! Only issue is that they need far more toilets, especially for women.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom
