- From US$150.13 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 540 reviewsThe check in experience was seamless with extremely professional staff. The hotel room was a great size with an extremely comfortable bed and a large functional bathroom with a bath. The breakfast was excellent with a continent buffet and personal service for cooked options. Staff were very friendly and professional. We had drinks in the elegant bar that was very cosy on a cold, wet evening. The staff made it a personal experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. Close to town (we ate in town for dinner). Would thoroughly recommend this beautiful, well appointed property.Guest review byLawrenceAustralia

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 659 reviewsBreakfast was excellent. But the real prize was the magnificent, fully lined tweed drapes in the room -- an easily overlooked touch, but such exquisite fabric in a simple, cozy little hotel room, and such a Scottish touch, too! At least one night dnner was Michelin star worthy, and all meals were excellent.Guest review byDonCanada

We stayed for one night on way home and had a lovely evening meal followed by a really excellent breakfast, with waiter service. The borders of Scotland cannot be bettered for scenery and the hotel grounds by the side of the tweed river make an idyllic setting, ideal for a relaxing break.Guest review bywilliamUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Kelso is an interesting town in its own right .
Kelso is an interesting town in its own right . Plenty of interesting shops , bars , and a square to add to the overall attraction . The Cream Chimneys cafe on the square is first class with interesting innovative dishes and advertises live music on weekend evenings . You would need to make a reservation for this . Nearby Floors Castle is worth a visit , and you can walk along the river which is easy to get to . Kelso would be a good base from which to visit other Border towns . There is plenty of streetside parking .Guest review byjohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Jedburgh is a little gem - it’s steeped in history.
Jedburgh is a little gem - it’s steeped in history. It is spotlessly clean - the local people were all very friendly. Two must visits are Mary Queen of Scots home and Jedburgh Castle Jail. We are in Belters Bar - the food was beautiful. The Jedburgh Baguette Co was perfect for lunch - so tasty.Guest review byMoiraUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Small town to be enjoyed day or night beautifully set in the lowlands. Excellent, reliable bus and taxi services. Numerous supermarkets for choice in addition to many hosterlies. When the sun shines, just close your eyes, breathe in the fresh air and realize how lucky we are to have such beautiful places as Hawick.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Eyemouth has a charm all of its own.
Eyemouth has a charm all of its own. The people I met were all very friendly and helpful, The "resident" seals were an added bonus, and getting to feed them was a real joy. You can get a really good Hot Kipper Roll at the same time, or any other seafood treat of choice. Lots of walking paths in and around surrounding areas. The Fish and Chip shop on the Quayside does really good food , and the Ice cream shop next to it is not to be missed. Would recommend for a short stay.Guest review byEerkiesUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Selkirk is not particularly special but it is perfectly located to visit a myriad of interesting places, the most special being the Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels. A must see, in my view even better than the Bayeux Tapestry. Melrose, Floors Castle, Peebles and many beautiful gardens are all nearby. Easy access to Edinburgh by road or train. 90 minutes to the wonderful Dumfries House.Guest review byTimUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Our day there coincided with shops day off.
Our day there coincided with shops day off. But not many shops there anyway. We watched the cyclists on Tour of Britain cycling through and had a coffee. We returned to the hotel and visited the Bar for refreshment and a chat to both staff and customers. We had a really enjoyable dinner in the dining room, which has lots of Coldstream Guards memorabilia, all of which was interesting.Guest review byGrahamUnited Kingdom
