The pictures don’t do justice for this place. It very well exceeded our expectations. Truely Highlands feel … The staff were amazing and very friendly. One morning when we were having breakfast outside the chalet, one of the restaurant staff stopped by for a chat and offered to take a photo of our family.Guest review byleylaAustralia

Aviemore is obviously a town built around tourism, and so is fairly expensive, and not particularly historic. But it has all the necessary facilities, with a good choice of bars and restaurants, and its in a great location to explore the Cairngorms.Guest review byrussjacoUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Beautiful little town in a stunning location.
Beautiful little town in a stunning location. The town is decorated with the most amazing hanging baskets. Several pubs, all seemed to be busy and offered good value food. The town is ideally located for exploring the beautiful areaGuest review byJuliaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Park was well run and clean. People very helpful. Beautiful location. Town was lovely. Pod was bright and clean, first time staying in one, good experience, shower was great! Had coffee and a muffin in an art shop on the main street, best muffin ever, husband and wife team, very pleasant and friendly.Guest review byElizabethUnited Kingdom - 8.0
It was a stopover for us.
It was a stopover for us. If I had known more about the region we would have orranged an extra night. We did do a tour of the Dalwhinnie Distillery on our way south which was great. Make a booking - we were lucky as we hadn't made a one but there was two extra spots. Loved the Duke of Gordon hotel. So very old school and so beautiful. Great value for money.Guest review byPWRGBAustralia - 8.0

I was not visiting Newtonmore, but climbing. Newtonmore is a nice village with some good hotel restaurants and bars and is in a lovely setting in the hills. its probably a good centre for a touring holiday, and there are quite a few good places easily reached from here.Guest review byDave_ShanksUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Boat of Garten is a small village which has some good features and services, including a pub, a village store, pizza shop, art gallery and historic railway station. It is well located in relation to forest walks and other outdoor activities. For any significant shopping you needs to travel nearby Aviemore, 4.5 miles away. We preferred the peace and quiet of Boat of Garten for our stay in the area.Guest review byJohnAustralia - 2.0
Very disappointing stay.
Very disappointing stay. Staff were rude and unhelpful - especially at breakfast. Dining staff Bella’s behaviour was shockingly unprofessional and not acceptable. Dirty, smelly rooms, one with a broken bed. Complaints were brushed off with a simple “sorry.” We booked 4 rooms for family visiting from Canada and deeply regret choosing this hotel. Definitely not worth the 4-star rating.Guest review byNiaz - 10.0

International dark sky park and local ski centre. Didn’t have enough time to visit other local attractions like the castle ruins, Jacobite battle sites etc. could spend weeks up here if you’re outdoor people!Guest review bymichael - 8.0

Nestled amongst the mountains with paths and tracks leading all over what’s not to like? Sadly, the general facilities here have gone. No shop for example. One place did have a sign out for coffee, but there could be an opportunity here for someone. Worth climbing up the Cateran Trail heading south to get stunning views looking down on the village. Also visit the stone circle, old bridge and the church. Just soak up the atmosphere!Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 8.0
