- From $153 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 6,607 reviewsA very old hotel with a lot of character, you won't get cold here with super heated rooms! The room without a view was very comfortable and bed was excellent, good nights rest. Spotless clean room - nothing to fault. Breakfast was cooked to order (full Scottish) and a top host to sort it out - full marks for that lass. That was the best I had in traveling back to Scotland from Folkstone. Parking on the property was a bonus - not the best of off street parking but excellent to get the car off the main drag.Guest review byAshNetherlands

The fact that we stayed beside the grounds of the Battle of Bannockburn was fantastic, great history, unfortunately the visitor centre was closed during our stay. We were there for the history and were not disappointed, taking in the Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, Battle of Bannockburn, The Kelpies, and the Falkirk Wheel. Having a rental vehicle with built in navigation was a bonus and made getting around so much easier than if doing so strictly by map.Guest review byrobertsonCanada - 10.0
Plenty to see but a visit to the Kelpies is something to see...
Plenty to see but a visit to the Kelpies is something to see close up, point to notice is the free car park is a fairly long walk and the nearer one is only £3.80 or so all day for a car and is still a little way away but the size of the Kelpies is deceptive and its not till your close the true size is revealed. Falkirk wheel is also worth a visit, we happened to choose a day with poor weather but went on the boat ride on the lift and our friends really enjoyed it. Parking bays (fairly rough) looped into each other up the steep hill with lots of disabled spaces down by the bottom roundabout.Guest review byMalcolm - 10.0

A small village in Scottish Highlands.
A small village in Scottish Highlands. I'd recommend to have a short stop there if you are going more up North. If you need to stay overnight then you will find several hotels and cabins (for rent). There are a couple of good restaurants and cafes. There is a small shop and a petrol station too.Guest review byDenisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The town as everything you need, several pubs and resturants, shops, small supermarket (Tesco express opposite property) Co-op the other end of High Street. Tourist Info centre had lots of walking, cycling leaflets and places to visit. A good weeks worth of walking & cycling from the front door.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Location is very good a stone throw away from Falkirk. Room decor from the 80s. Ground floor external rooms are noisy. Price was decent with buffet breakfast included. However breakfast needs to be covered on display, bacon dried out and was too hard to eat...not crispy ! Staff were very helpful.Guest review byScottish PuffinMalta - 10.0

This was a great stopover on our tour of Scotland. Our room was fantastic. Very comfortable. We wished we could have stayed for several days. We didn’t do activities as time was short for us. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant and the buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious and plenty to choose from.Guest review byJaneAustralia - 10.0

Lovely town. Cathedral is beautiful and very interesting. The riverside is also lovely and I would have liked to walk along the riverside walk if I had more time! Museum is also interesting, and there were some really nice little gift shops to browse through!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Aberfoyle is a nice little town with a some nice (tourist) shops . We liked the sheepdog display in front of the Scottish Wool Centre best. Very informative show with different types of sheep, a sheepdog that guides some ducks along a parcours. The show lasts 30mins and is for FREE. Great food at restaurant Fairie Tree Inn. Easy walk (30mins return) to a nice waterfall and a feeding place for red squirrels and lots of birds from the Lodge Forest Visitor Centre. Glasgow in easy distance (45mins by car).Guest review byEckartGermany
