FAQs about hotels in Cornwall
The Stuff of Legends
Inhabited since prehistory, Cornwall is characterised by a series by rocky bays, fishing villages and spectacular coastline. Right at England’s western tip is Land’s End where sheer cliffs descend into the Atlantic Ocean. Along the coast is popular St Ives, home to many Cornwall hotels by the sea on Booking.com.
Another fantastic beach resort is Penzance, while across the bay is St Michael’s Mount (not to be confused with similar Mont St-Michel in Normandy). Also boasting a wonderful beach is Newquay, though it is best known for its excellent surfing conditions.
Further north is Tintagel, the stuff of legends due to its association with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The remains of Tintagel Castle are perched dramatically on a rocky promontory, while inland on Bodmin Moor granite tors and stone monoliths only add to Cornwall’s feeling of mystery.
Heading north towards Bude the Cornwall beaches become longer, while on the southern coast Looe is a picturesque town curving around an inlet. To the east near St Austell is the Eden Project, huge domes housing thousands of plants from all over the world.
The county town of Cornwall is Truro, home to an impressive cathedral overlooking the River Fal which flows down to Falmouth Bay, a great spot to try some local Cornish ice cream.

- From US$214.27 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,493 reviewsThe ambiance of the hotel is fantastic! It's a boutique hotel, stylish, colourful, and pleasant to stay at for any reason: in the room, in the bar, restaurant, spa, lobby, and, of course, a lovely terrace with a picturesque ocean view. Spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, ocean view. The sandy Porthminster Beach is just a 5-minute walk. Breakfast includes everything you need; you can also order eggs in addition to the buffet. I had a fantastic time at the spa, which features a pool, two saunas, and a jacuzzi. I also had a great massage. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the town center, offering a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants. They have a car park, which is good regarding the lack of parking spaces in town.Guest review byTatyanaUkraine

Think Newquay itself needs some financial investment...
Think Newquay itself needs some financial investment putting into it ,empty shops and seems very untidy in places. Could do with more easy eating places for families and maybe bars like mothersurf in killacourt on the crescent which was very friendly and and was made to feel very welcome. We will be back hopefully next year.Guest review bySueUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Interesting independant shops, great places to eat )vegetarian and vegan(, lovely beach and close distance to other interesting seaside towns. We enjoyed the live music venues and the young buzz of the town against the background of historical interest. The maritime museum, the castle and great places for children to run around .... if we had any with us!! A late night Tesco express was also very convenient!Guest review byjaneUnited Kingdom - 8.0

St Ives is delightful and perfect in many ways wonderful light old not spoled town three beaches tho more populous than one realises its full of old houses and cottages windy street and always people are pleasant and helpful.. other visitors always kind and genuine. An honest and really near perfect place!wondreful mermaid resataurant..you have to book but extra special and actually very fairly priced. Wonderful beaches so many people have their beloved dogs. Getting around requires a taxi if you are elderly . The sea water lido on the shore, with a geothermal section...
The sea water lido on the shore, with a geothermal section was a big hit with us. We enjoyed walking along the promendate and watching the variable sea, sometimes crashing against the formidable sea wall. Our main attraction for choosing Penzance was the ferry to St Marys, Isles of Scilly, which is doable as a day trip. The ferry port is at the end of the promendate, easily accessible. There are good bus services to various destinations in the area, such as Mousehole and St Ives.Guest review byEleanorUnited Kingdom - 8.0

St. Austell is a working town not really a vacation destination. But it has excellent transport facilities - bus and train to all the major Cornwall attractions and is perfect for the Eden Project. I couldn’t find a Tescos or similar.Guest review byColinUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Apart from the cathedral there was not much else .
Apart from the cathedral there was not much else . We had based ourselves in Truro to visit Tresillik National Trust which in spite of being in great location was rather dissappointing having visited Lanhydrock earlier in the day which was superb. The house in Tressilick was very limited and appeared to be mainly used in lieu of the more usual excellent NT restaurant.Guest review byRogerUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We especially like Padstow out of season as it is much easier to get around and enjoy the wide range of restaurants, pubs and bars in the evening. The working harbour with its lock gate is always interesting to walk aroung, have a pasty or coffee and cake. Many of the pubs such as The Old Custom House and The Harbour Inn have live music and open mike nights at the weekend with great atmosphere.Guest review byDevon ScotUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Looe is an unspoilt gem of Cornwall, where you feel relaxed & 'in the holiday mood!' It has a very interesting 'Heritage Centre' & 'Information Center'. Many restaurants to choose from of all nationalities. Easy access by bus to visit nearby places e.g Polperro. Mostly level, so ideal for those with walking difficulties.Guest review byDianaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The Bude canal walk with our dog was great, and the varied shops in Bude were excellent as were the eating places in and around Bude. Widemouth is worth a visit - not far away - we had an excellent meal at the Bay View Inn and saw the sunset from thereGuest review byTerryUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Tintagel is a magical place to visit.
Tintagel is a magical place to visit. Lots of little shops and places to eat. We enjoyed having a coffee at the Camelot Castle Hotel with beautiful views of the sea and the moors. Also King Arthur’s Castle can be seen and people walking over the bridge to it. We would like to have walked over the bridge but we were advised that the walk is long and steep and not suitable for unsteady walkers.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom
