The Old Courthouse Pub - go upstairs to see the old courtroom (available for event hire) and the toilets used to be the prisoners' cells (& rumoured to be haunted!). The Turkish Kitchen - great food, good value & very peasant staff.Guest review byMike ChagouriUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It's a lovely village as has numerous nearby villages that are definitely worth visiting. We were looking to have a chat with locals in a pub and weren't disappointed. Everyone we met was friendly to us and we certainly enjoyed the various village pubs we visited. We particularly liked the Blue Boar in Chipping Norton (sitting outside basking in the sun) and Chequers at Churchill - great atmosphere with good food and service. Also close to Diddly Squat and Farmer's Dog which we visited and were lucky enough to meet Gerald at the Farm shop. We didn't go into the shop or the pub but as a visitor we enjoyed the alternate experiences available.Guest review bySandraAustralia - 10.0

Our stay in Stow-on-the-Wold was charming and peaceful – cobbled streets, cosy tea rooms, and friendly locals at every turn. We wandered through antique shops, enjoyed hearty pub meals, and soaked in the Cotswolds’ timeless beauty. The perfect blend of relaxation and little adventures. Oh, and the cocktails! 🍸 We’ll definitely be back.Guest review byJonnyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Bourton is a beautiful place, although suffers as a result as it's very busy. There are some good food and drink options, although the majority of shops seem to offer the same tourist-trap tat. Come in the off-season.Guest review byJimJammingUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds.
Excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds. Easily reached by train. Accomodations mostly in historical buildings along the (busy) main road. Large supermarkets and a lot of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Especially loved cocktails in the garden of the Manor House, breakfast and excellent coffee at Lynnwood and generous portions of italian at Bellinis.Guest review byKrystaNetherlands - 8.0

Stroud was not the focus of our trip, but since you ask I'd say that its former condition was probably rather better than its current condition. It doesn't do well when compared with Cirencester which really is a town worth visiting. Stroud is pleasant enough and good for shopping. Traffic is reasonableGuest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 6.0
The Thames is stunning and worth a stroll along.
The Thames is stunning and worth a stroll along. Sit and watch the birds, fish, boats, dragonflies, and people enjoying themselves. The Rose Revived Public House and Restaurant is not for fine dining but you can have a wonderful meal and a lovely drink in nice surroundings. The willows and gardens are lovely. The waitresses like Ella are well trained and full of life.Guest review byNicholas - 10.0

I believe Chipping Campden to be overall the best location in the Cotswolds. It has everything you need including pubs, a cocktail bar, restaurants, shops, a small mini-market, and the high street is picturesque and atmospheric. Just a lovely little town with great access to the rest of the Cotswolds. Da Luigi Italian restaurant is a particular find, with wonderful food and very friendly service.Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom
