FAQs about hotels in England
The Small Country with Big Appeal
For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.
Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.
Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.
With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

A Unesco centre with history of world famous musicians,...
A Unesco centre with history of world famous musicians, naval heroes, entertainers and magnificent buildings -some from the history of shipping and industrial businesses and many modern architectural works of art- Museums by the dockside in addition to the Library, Cathedrals , Theatres,Art Galleries, Football stadiums and Universities. The Fabulous Beatles history- is brilliantly accessible through the Red bus trips(excellent musical guide and friendly driver teams) Sgt Pepper pub and Cavern- offer great live music- in Mathew Street. There are many cafes/ pubs/restaurants spread through the centre of town so much choice for variety of food /cost / quality live music. We visited the Daffodil boat - early evening drink and small plates. We also went to the Ivy to eat and the Castle Street Townhouse for drink and great live band. The River cruise and 3 cathedrals ,St George's Hall and library are inspiring. We all loved our brief visit -so much to do!Guest review byLornaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Cosmopolitan, but really friendly.
Cosmopolitan, but really friendly. Lots of interesting places to visit - notably the Jewellery Quarter Museum (take the tram) and the Back2Backs Museum (by Chinatown). Obviously, fantastic shopping in the Bullring and many other shopping centres etc and the Gas Street Canal area was interesting (probably even more so at night when it really comes alive!). With the recent death of Ozzy Osborne (Black Sabbath) there's plenty of 'memorials' to him currently. If historical and cultural buildings are 'your thing' then there's plenty to see and do. We were surprised by the significant amount of 'open spaces' for the residents/workers of Birmingham to relax in the centre of the City. Don't overlook Birmingham as a city centre destination!Guest review byDonaldUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The piers are great, each very different.
The piers are great, each very different. Plenty of things to do and see. Its a shame about the empty and going to ruin buildings on the golden mile and really the council should make it easier for these places to be used to their full capacity and not left to rot. The tram service and easy process to buy tickets is brilliant and we used it a lot. Lovely ride through the lights and to visit nearby places. The eating inn on the front south shore was a favourite place to eat. Lots of good things going on in Blackpool, but needs investment. If they got it right and sorted some things out it could be a goldmine place, very good for a 2 night stay, that would be my recommend stay timeGuest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The buffet breakfast was ideal for us and in a very quiet and peaceful setting. There were people around to help you to a seat and so the dining room didn't seem too overcrowded. The staff greeted us and that made a difference to our experience for breakfast!! The room was better than expected and we took a walk in the evening despite it being on a busy road. The reception staff helped with information about the shuttle bus to our terminal and it all worked well. We ate in the evening at the pub down the road which was very busy but good value food.Guest review byElaineUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Excellent food great places to visit loved the heritage...
Excellent food great places to visit loved the heritage harbour area and the Arnolfini Gallery. We were there for the women’s rugby transport back from the game to the city was poor. Signage to and from the ground was very very poor and we had a near 3 mile walk in the pouring rain!Guest review byGILLIANUnited Kingdom - 8.0
the location, price, breakfast was good.
the location, price, breakfast was good. Let down by the parking fee @ £20, room small, toiletries very cheap, used my own. Went for a funeral so didn't look around, but went to the city center for food as more choice for Gluten Free.Guest review bySuzieUnited Kingdom
