FAQs about hotels in England
The Small Country with Big Appeal
For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.
Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.
Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.
With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

London is busy noisy and full of concrete.
London is busy noisy and full of concrete. A lot of the sights were very expensive. Food was okay, don't believe a resturaunt telling you it's Italian because it isn't. The best places for food were the pubs if you can take children in. We seem to have lost the old London and that's a shame.Guest review byVivienne - 10.0
Manchester is an amazing city - for business or pleasure.
Manchester is an amazing city - for business or pleasure. There is a vast selection of restaurants and the shops are fabulous - although not many independent boutiques, all high-street chains. Not a great city for cars, recommend travelling in by train or taxi. Most of the city centre is pedestrianised, which is much safer when walking around. If you're looking for finer dining, head to Spinningfields, or Grand Pacific (stunning restaurant!). If you're on a hen/stag doo, head for Deansgate or Canal Street. If you're partial to Chinese food, head to China Town - there are some amazing restaurants there! If you're looking for an indy/student vibe, head to the Northern Quarter. Manchester has something for everyone!Guest review byDizzyDarlingUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Really Vibrant City.
Really Vibrant City. There's plenty to see especially if you are a fan of The Beatles. The city certainly lives on the bands history. If you like football then you've a choice of the two big clubs or even a trip over the Mersey to Tranmere Rovers (our destination and a good day we had). The City seems to come alive at night and there are so many choices of places to eat, drink or dance the night away. A real mix of local people and tourists.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 8.0

There are so many different types of entertainment appealing to all ages. It is a lively, fun and colourful resort and the Promenade is all flat and easy to get around. The trams and buses are so numerous and regular and make getting about so easy. There are theatres offering a variety of shows and there are lots of pubs offering free live entertainment every night. .Also so many places to eat band so many kids entertainment venues....the circus and Sea Life are but two of many. I would recommend Blackpool to anyone of any age. 👍👍Guest review byCaroleUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I couldn’t find any shops at Hillingdon, although I went on a long walk near the Sheraton Heathrow hotel. I saw red buses passing by, but didn’t get any information about destinations or timetables at the hotel. I went to Heathrow for this information. The Uber and hoppa bus were my link to Heathrow.Guest review byBarbaraAustralia - 10.0
