- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 4,763 reviewsThe best thing about the hotel is the staff, special shout out to Mittu for being so accomodating and smiley :) I dont remember the names of the other staff at the hotel but the 3 people at reception were very lovely. The staff at the wallace room (breakfast staff) was excellent too, felt very comfortable at the breakfast. The staff was very welcoming (there were 3 people one tall man and two ladies). Definately a shout out to the staff at the ASH restaurant, again felt very welcomed and pampered + amazing food! All in all we stayed there 2 nights and the entire staff and the hotel made it so special, definately one of the best holidays we have had. Everything was just perfect!! Thanks a ton to everyone for making it so memorable. Will surely be back soon, hopefully!Guest review byridhimaIndia
- From US$240.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.1Good - What previous guests thought, 2,953 reviewsThe location was excellent. Right next to the train and bus station. Lots of restaurants around. The room was cosy and nice. The bathroom was big, and everything was cleaned every day. There was a problem with the bolier the first morning, but theybsort it out fairly quickly during the day, and after that, everything worked jurt fine, and heating in the room was perfect. Breakfast was great because it was buffet style and had a wide selection of food, including vegetarian options The hotel is old, but I think that it is pretty well maintained, and it has its own charm. I would stay here again.Guest review byAlejandra Espinoza CChile
- From US$223.97 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 844 reviewsAbsolutely amazing view from our Caravan. The Caravan was nice and clean. Loved that there was a kitchen and our own bathroom. We did not meet the staff except on check-out as we arrive very late, but everything was prepared for us when we arrived. The Caravan was cold on arrival, but when we turned the heating on, it was warm within 5 minutes. Fantastic! Very nice and quiet place with very good facilities.Guest review bySvenstrupDenmark

Interesting tourist-oriented town with plenty to do in the vicinity especially if you like the outdoor life. A choice of restaurants including the Tavern where there’s good, no-nonsense traditional cooking such as mince and mash, and chicken breast stuffed with haggis served with mash and a warming whisky sauce. The trip up the mountain in the gondola just outside was also a highlight . The view was shrouded in low cloud at first but gradually cleared to reveal a fantastic panorama.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Aviemore has a great buzz about it – a proper gateway to the Cairngorms with a strong tourist vibe that makes it feel lively year-round. The high street is packed with outdoor shops, from big names like Ellis Brigham and Tiso to smaller independents, so whether you’re after hiking boots, ski gear or a new waterproof, you’re well catered for. There’s also a good mix of cafés, pubs and restaurants, which keeps the place welcoming after a day outdoors. It’s the kind of town where you instantly feel in “holiday mode,” with a steady flow of visitors giving it energy without losing its Highland charm.Guest review byAndyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Like much of the north-west, Ullapool has become expensive...
Like much of the north-west, Ullapool has become expensive following the promotion of the NC500. There has not been a matching increase in quality in some places. Despite the extra visitors and a major recent upgrade to the sea front area there are still empty shops on the front. If this is to remain the premier tourist stop for the north-west it needs someone to give it a bit of a shake. Very sad really, Ullapool is a lovely village and need looking after.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It's a little hard to find the larger parking lot that has a 3 hour limit, the 2 up in the center of town are limited to 2 hours and no return within 1 hour. It's easy to see all the shops in an afternoon. Lots of places to eat, Dulse and Brose was very good but you must make a reservation.Guest review bydixieheartless - 6.0

There seems to be a lot of closed up cafes /business premises in Kyleakin. Its a sprawling sort of place, maybe we hit it at a bad time. I would not have been too keen to stay there but for our cottage which was fabulous and if we had been staying longer it would have been a lovely house to base oneself in for trips to the rest of the island.Guest review byMaryIreland - 2.0
A poor and unattractive place.
A poor and unattractive place. Most shops were empty and nothing was looked after, except a superb flower garden around a statue in a little square near the hotel. It was difficult to find somewhere nice to eat. Quite depressing environment.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A great place for boat tours of Loch Ness and Urquhart...
A great place for boat tours of Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle is located just outside the village. The village itself is very pleasant with a beautiful village green which had a market on it the day we left. The Fiddlers Restaurant on the village green was a great place to eat, drink and watch the world go by. Urquhart Castle is well worth visiting with a great visitor centre and Loch Ness as a splendid backdrop to the stunning castle remains.Guest review byStephenHong Kong - 10.0
Beautiful scenery. Brilliant trips on the Loch Ness Cruises.
Beautiful scenery. Brilliant trips on the Loch Ness Cruises. Plenty of places to visit. Plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants, gift shops. Fascinating watching the boats going up and down the series of locks. It certainly was not a disappointment.Guest review byMccormack - 8.0
Passing through, needed a base.
Passing through, needed a base. It’s a bit out of the way, no buses in evening to connect to rest of Skye for returning from activities. The coop nearby makes for good grocery shopping, and the shoreline trail is scenic, for a short walk. Bus stop is a 5 min walk.Guest review byMechthild
