Even if I stayed just for one night It was just perfect! The Ocean view It's one of the most beautiful view in Scotland. My room was big and very clean, with modern hot shower and a confy bed. The place It's just 15 minutes walking distance from the Ferry and the center of Rothesay. ...Ten minutes walking by the Ocean that were the most beautiful part of my journey! The delicius breakfast cooked from the Patron Chef was very generous and served by lovely staff members. I wanted to stay longer, but It was full booked! So, I am looking forward to coming back soon! The slow pace of life a quiet village, with a lovely sea view. You can walk along the sea front sit on a bench and watch the boats and ferries coming and going into Rothesay itself just breathtaking. We visited Ardencraig gardens and aviary which have beautiful flowers that are well maintained The aviary has a variety of small birds are delightful to watch. We saw the Standing stones that can be reached by car or bus. A hop on hop off bus tour is also available on the Island.Guest review byMargaretUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Views and walks from Kilchattan are stunning.
Views and walks from Kilchattan are stunning. It’s not a crowded village but has a lovely coffee shop right next to the beach and just a short walk to the Kingarth pub/hotel. A great place for bird watching and safe for swimming.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great cottage and facilities for those of you who want to...
Great cottage and facilities for those of you who want to escape busy life and traffic of the mainland and enjoy making your own entertainment. If you enjoy your own company and the outdoor life then this is for you. Small island. Easy to get around by car and appears to have better bus service than mainland. Shops mainly centred around Rothesay. Can't speak for dining out but didn't appear to have much choice of quality restaurants. Does have a great butchers in Macqueens and main co-op has good selection of most things including off licence. Some nice quality individual shops but need to look for them. Mountstuart House and Gardens is a MUST See if you haven't already been.Guest review byLindsayUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Rothesay (and the whole island) is very laid back and stress-free. The place has a wonderful calm atmosphere, unlike other tourist spots, which needs to be experienced to believe. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Easy to get round island by bus or sightseeing bus. We loved Ettrick Bay and Kilchattan Bay.Guest review byPauline - 6.0
Port Bannatyne is 2 miles from Rothesay.
Port Bannatyne is 2 miles from Rothesay. There is a small village shop and one community run pub. The only cafe was not open during our stay, so we had to drive back to Rothesay to get something to eat. Very few pubs do food and there's not many places available to eat in the evening.Guest review byJaneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I liked the relaxed vibe on the Island.
I liked the relaxed vibe on the Island. Enjoyed my stay and views at the Cadillac hotel. Enjoyed a meal and beers at the Kustom Cadillac Hotel. Enjoyed the Taverna Pub in Rothsey. The open bus tour of the Island. A tour of the spectacular Mount Stewart House/ Castle. Rothsey golf course and a bit of fishing in the Firth of Clyde. Also enjoyed the 35 minute Ferry Cruise!Guest review byDouglasUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Port Bannatyne is beautiful and so peaceful.
Port Bannatyne is beautiful and so peaceful. Absolutely stunning views and really comfy bed, The only thing I would suggest to improve facilities is that a better hotplate for cooking is needed, as the one provided only had one plate working. I knowmost people don't cook on holiday though and there are loads of great places to eat on Bute. The pubs and cafes are fantastic and I'd particularly recommend the Post Office at Port Bannatyne, Callows in Rothesay for home baking and breakfast and the Galatea for a great night out and fantastic live music.Guest review byKayUnited Kingdom
