- From US$146.16 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 1,432 reviewsHotel was booked at last minute for work, mainly on location, and had no idea what I was being sent to. Shouldn't have worried. It's a lovely building, all staff very helpful, buffet breakfast had many options (hot and cold), evening meals had good menu, and well stocked bar. Great views from the restaurant over the beach, some rooms would have the same (my room faced inland). I had single room, plenty of space, clean and tidy, but it is an old building, so don't expect perfect finishes. Golf course opposite, and many bracing walks available around the beaches. Had a day going round Loch Ness, Fort George and a few villages in the area, there are whisky trails to sample the local brews, but as I was on my own, so no one else to drive, and has to avoid them.Guest review byJoeFrance
- From US$199.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 918 reviewsMy room was very beautiful. Honestly, after reading some reviews before booking, I thought I might be disappointed, but once I arrived, everything changed. The hotel ambiance was awesome, and the people at the front desk were very helpful — especially the manager, who was excellent. The rooms were very clean, and the dinner experience was just wow! 🤩 I really enjoyed my meal — the king prawns and lamb shank were absolutely amazing, prepared by Chef Priyanka. She did a fantastic job. At the bar, Iona was also wonderful — so kind and welcoming. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this hotel.Guest review byJohnSpain

We specifically came here to plane spot at RAF Lossiemouth. Well, we were in luck as Alison and Hugh are well into aviation. Lots of tips and advice was so good. Thank you. Breakfast was fab and we had eggs Benedict on both days. Very nice. made to feel very welcome and the location for everything was brilliant. Alison and Hugh are always happy to help.Guest review byNikosUnited Kingdom

Everyone here was friendly, the rooms were clean, spacious, and great, and the location was right in the heart of Speyside. We walked to Glenfiddich and Balvenie. When I come back for a distillery tour, I plan on using The Whisky Capital Inn as my base of operations to tour the whole area! And their restaurant serves top notch culinary delights, with a whisky selection that is unrivaled!Guest review byAnthonyUnited States

Sadly we only spent one night as we were on a tight itinerary, but the staff were really friendly, the location was excellent and the room warm and cozy. For us the most interesting part is Elgin Cathedral, which is cared for by Historic Scotland. Although it is a partial ruin, there are interiors you can visit and even climb to the top of the two towers. This can be a bit scary because the stone spiral staircases are very narrow and worn, though there are rope grips on the walls. There are very well presented exhibits which are nicely described, illustrating how the building was constructed and decorated - and advantage when there are actual stone components resulting from the partial destruction! Sadly, the centre of Elgin looks rather run down as a result of nearby large supermarkets, as has happened with other towns. We were surprised about how much traffic there was within the central area. Compared with smaller Nairn to the west, we felt that the town could sell itself better. However we recommend visiting the Library which has very helpful staff who can provide town maps and recommend things to do and places to visit. Usefully there are clean toilets and a cafe available to the public in the Library. For those without a car, there is an hourly train service to Inverness which gives easy access to Forres and Nairn. We have yet to investigate local bus services, which locals seemed to feel were a bit sparse. Someone recommended Lossiemouth as a port well worth visiting and we fully intend to resturn to this area.Guest review byParkes - 10.0

Aberlour is a beautiful Speyside town in Scotland.
Aberlour is a beautiful Speyside town in Scotland. It's clear people here take pride in the place - very tidy, hanging baskets, no litter etc. Charming to visit. There is plenty to do in the town and the surrounding area. No shortage of distilleries to visit, nice restaurants, pubs, cafes and great hotels. The weather varies greatly by season so come prepared. Lots to do outside - fishing, walking, mountain biking and much more. Heartily recommend it!Guest review byMariaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Ready access to the beach and all other coastal villages each with their own unique charm and character. Friendly people and superb local cuisine. With regard to eating out, there was a limited choice of places to eat in Buckie itself after 7pm. I would say that Struan house is the best hotel in Buckie and that my complimentary review probably mirrors the thoughts of many others who have stayed there.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Fochabers is a quaint, lovely small town dating from the 18th century. Easy to drive in and find parking. It’s a convenient location to use as a base to visit surrounding historical sites, look for local shops for made in Scotland goods, go to some distilleries or drive to the coast. Beautiful Castle Gordon next to the town, offer tours. First Highland Games of the Season are held on the Castle grounds in May. There are at least four places to stay, Gordon Castle being one. Delightfully diverse dining options; most are an easy walk. Depending on where you stay, dining is also available on site. We stayed at the Red Lion Tavern that offers a fabulous breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Fochabers. Please consider this lovely village as part of your itinerary.Guest review byChristineUnited States - 10.0

I was born in the Seatown in my grandmother's house so Cullen has always been a magical place for me, Best bits - the Seatown, the harbour. the fishing heritage, the bay and beach, the walk to the Bow Fiddle Rock, Cullen House - I could go on and on. Just go and see for yourselves. Make sure you visit the Yellow Deli for scrumptious eats and the Royal Oak when you are really hungry - dogs allowed in the Bar.Guest review byHarthillUnited Kingdom
