I love the place, it carries on to deliver more each time I visit. The university somewhat dominates with modern architecture, but there are a veritable feast of architectural delights... Town Hall and the most extra lovely theatre, next to a Wetherspoons, such is the dichotomy of Sheffield... Clearly a city on the move, pubs and places to 'eat' out are every where as is night time entertainment venues. I doubt I will ever tire of visiting the place...

Chesterfield is close to lots of other beautiful towns and villages and of course the fantastic scenery. very good location for visiting a lot of areas in short distances of area. it was easy to get around and several good places to eat out as well as lots of fish and chip shops. We took our children to Gulliver's Kingdom which the 3-year-old loved, Heights of Abraham Buxton, Carsington water and Alton Towers, all within 30 mins travel. Local attraction 5 - 10 mins. Lovely little shops and a great book shop which was lovely with a little cafe in it. We also bought some lovely chocolate in a chocolatier and could see chocolates being hand made.

Tuesday, when we arrived, everything is closed in the evening. We couldn't find a restaurant to eat in, a lot of the pubs were closed early as it was late in the season, the ones open were full. Beautiful place though, loved it. It seemed a very safe place to wander about and everyone was very friendly. My daughter and I looked like the only ones without at least one dog. Try Bakewell pudding.

Castleton being in the centre of the Derbyshire Dales it is surrounded by beatiful sceanery and offers many walks and caving experiences. Within the town there are many pubs and restaraunts offering a very good selection of drinks and food, many are dog freindly. With being compact it was easy to get around. Very near by there are other interesting towns to eplore namely Bakewell, Crich (tram museum) Matlock and the Heights Of Abraham.

To be fair it isn't in Stockport.

To be fair it isn't in Stockport. It in a beautiful rural location with fabulous views of green countryside with a charming vista of Manchester in the distance. Yes it was! In my view ! Lol. For us it was a little out of the way mainly because I'm increasingly stressed by driving but in normal circumstances it's nice and quiet. We ate in Glossop at Napolis which was fab last time we went but this time it wasn't great! Had a great ready meal from sainsbury in New Mills! Lots of good walks and paths. Binge Watched Riot women on the big screen! We don't have a TV.
