We toured the Castle, Palace, Hiked Arthur's Seat, ate at Sheep Head Inn in Duddingston, Museum & Art Museum were great & free. Food was great everywhere. Bus & train system is easy to use. The city centre is relatively safe, just very dirty and beggars everywhere. There are many restaurants and pubs with decent food at affordable prices. The fact that we stayed beside the grounds of the Battle of Bannockburn was fantastic, great history, unfortunately the visitor centre was closed during our stay. We were there for the history and were not disappointed, taking in the Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, Battle of Bannockburn, The Kelpies, and the Falkirk Wheel. The lobby area was great. Loved the decor! I loved all the seating areas. Loved the bar and coffee stations. The rooms were bad. The carpeting was taped up with electrical tape. The shower curtain had mold on it. The body wash dispenser was not filled. It was empty. One of the lightbulbs was out. The beds were so hard and uncomfortable.
