Good venue, however wedding on and loud music, an on check in was not told about, which is fine but just tell your other guests. Wasn't told about spa and wasn’t given any information at all. Or asked if we wanted to book dinner? They need better communication really. Have you been before etc. to make you feel welcome.Guest review byChristopherUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The Marine pub serves great food and good portion sizes.
The Marine pub serves great food and good portion sizes. The main entrance is on Seaside Road but the beer garden entrance is not even 2 minutes walk from the cottage. The Jade Garden Chinese takeaway on seaside road was good too, being only a few minutes away the food was cooked to order and hot when we got back to the cottage with it. The Victorian Tea Room on the pier is well staffed, made to order and a great place for afternoon tea. It is very easy to walk around Eastbourne although there were some roadworks going on while we were there they didn’t bother us as the car was parked on Saturday we arrived and not moved till the following Saturday when we left. The Neon Crazy Golf on pier was fun and passed almost an hour as there were 4 of us playing. The Devonshire Theatre had a great show on. Loosely based on Morecombe and Wise it was very funny and well presented. The Dotto Train is always worth a trip and as Wednesday was a bit damp we went on it to Sovereign Harbour. A trip around the shopping area and lunch in The Harvester Restaurant at the marina. Good food served in a friendly manner with unlimited salad, what more could you need on a wet lunchtime. Eastbourne Airbourne was on from 14th-17th August and was the reason I chose that week to go to Eastbourne and it didn’t disappoint. There is nothing better than watching the planes from a great position on the promenade or seafront.Guest review byJanetteUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Rye is a really interesting historical town.
Rye is a really interesting historical town. Feels very safe and relaxed. Full of local history and old buildings complimented with the shops and restaurants to satisfy visitors. Lots of places in driving distance nearby and has rail links to Hastings and stations between Ashford and Eastbourne. The area around the Castle and St Mary's Church was my favourite, if you are mobile visit the church tower and see great views over the town. Best food was the Kings Head and best beer was in the Water Works. The town appeals more to grown ups, young children would probably prefer Camber Sands near by. Rye is a bit hilly with a few cobbled narrow streets which may be an issue to wheelchair users.Guest review byJasperUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Spotlessly clean room. Easy to book in.
Spotlessly clean room. Easy to book in. A longish walk to our room and a lift was available to take us down to the right corridor. Staff helpful in both bar and restaurant. We dined in the restaurant Food excellent and not over priced. Happy atmosphere. Uckfield town was busy there is plenty to do and see in the areaGuest review byBrendaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Friendly people, smiling faces.
Friendly people, smiling faces. Very historic and amazing views from the Castle especially. 9 pubs within a 3 minute walk, all serving food. A plethora of restaurants, my favourite being Rustico which sells delicious Pastas and Pizzas. Fantastic bus services to and from surrounding towns and villages, stretching from Eastbourne to Brighton. Good train services and fast ones to London.Guest review byTim StephensSpain - 8.0
Lovely seaside town.
Lovely seaside town. Not too busy with tourists and train service to larger seaside resorts running throughout the day. Lovely places to grab a coffee or food. Really enjoyed dinner in Bentley's Steakhouse and the Picnic Basket does really good affordable breakfasts. Lots of other eateries along the sea front and lovely views from De Warr Pavilion if you fancy stopping there for a coffee.Guest review byHelenIreland - 4.0

Battle is a pretty little town and very compact.
Battle is a pretty little town and very compact. The Abbey and battle ground is good to see as it is a major part of this country's history. However, if you opt to walk around the battlefield make sure you make use of the free audio guide as this brings the history to life as opposed to just looking at a field. The Abbey/battlefield and town can be done in a day, but it is a good idea to have an overnight stay so that you can pace yourself and fully enjoy the place.Guest review byPantelisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Ticehurst is like visiting another world. It is a quirky and relaxing with interesting art shops and the most amazing cafe called 'The Greedy Goat'. The owner is just lovely and the food was the best and great value. Definitely recommend visiting Ticehurst. The residents are so friendly.Guest review byAnneUnited Kingdom
