We stayed at Lazaretto Palace while visiting family on Ithaki. Our ferry arrived very early, before check-in, but we were allowed to leave our luggage there while had coffee and visited with family. We booked two rooms and both were excellent. Everything was very clean. We were given water bottles at check in which was helful. The rooms were very spavious and the beds were comfortable and the shower is large. The balcony view is breathtaking. It was so nice to sit there in the mornings and evenings, looking at the beautiful Vathi bay. The kitchenette had everything we needed, and the fridge was pretty much brand new. We loved the breakfast provided, which included breads, cereals, yogurt, eggs (hardboiled, scrambled, fried) , bacon, sausage, lunch meats, fresh tomato, coffee, milk, and juices. They also had a variety of jams and yogurt toppings. We'd eat our food on the outdoor balcony tables and it was just perfect. Kudos to the chef. It is a short walk to the city center. Vassily, checked on us every day to make sure everything was okay with our stay. He was very kind and welcoming. He also let us leave our luggage after check out until we headed back to the ferry. We would absolutely stay at Lazaretto again.

This apartment was top knotch. Super clean, organized, and spacious. The rooms and bathroom and sitting areas were spacious and very comfortable; beautiful home. The hostess, Ms. Katerina was more than welcoming and always helpful. She had the fridge stocked with water for our arrival and also made homemade sweets. The apartment is centrally located in Vathy, where everything is just a walk away! I highly recommend this booking. Thank you, Kupia Katerina, for opening your home to us and for such a wonderful stay.

    We stayed at Lazaretto Palace while visiting family on Ithaki.     Amazing view, comfortable place that instantly feels like home. We loved sitting on the balcony in the morning and evening and enjoying the view with a cup of coffee or or glass of wine :) having two bathrooms was perfect for me and my cousin to have our own space. Walk to the grocery store and main part of town was only about 5-10 minutes. Absolutely would look to stay here specifically again if coming back.

    I had a delightful stay at the Perantzada. I miss it, especially the perfectly wonderful staff, Katerina, Haris, Ioanna, always smiling, friendly and willing to help in any way they could. The breakfasts were copious, well-prepared and worthy of note. The rooms are kept spotless. What an excellent place to spend a week on beautiful Ithaca! I am looking forward to my next visit!!

    For the second year in a row we chose ithacas poem apartments, because last year we were more than satisfied with the whole experience. The apartment was spacious and it had everything anybody could ask from a vacation home, plus it's super clean. They change the sheets and towels every Three days Walking distance from Vathy, and 10 minutes by car to the nearest beach.

    Vathi is an unspoilt paradise with many beautiful places to see. The water and beaches are stunning. It is easy to take a boat around the island and also to explore other islands nearby. It is a calm and relaxing environment with plenty of adventures to be had.

    Quite location around waterfront, that is closed to cars. Lovely little coves to swim in. Very poor bus service so car or taxi required to get around. Taxi fare from Vathy very reasonable at 45 euros.

    Great location, away from congested major towns, fabulous swimming at Polis beach. Great sight seeing walks to the ruins of the Palace of Odysseus. Numerous tavernas at Stavros and the port of Frikes, either on foot or by car. Very relaxing place to stay.

    This was a most excellent destination. Bakery on hand as was a mini market. Lovely beach nearby with free shade. Quaint tiny harbour to walk around in the evening. Bonus of a waterfront Dodoni cafe on the waterfront

    A beautiful harbour and working town, it is a really friendly place with a large number of good restaurants. It wasn’t too busy when we visited in late September. The local beaches are clean with clear blue water. We particularly liked Filiatro beach about 10 minutes drive away which has beach beds for rent and a good taverna. There is plenty of shade underneath the olive trees.

    Kioni is pittoresque and romantic.

    Kioni is pittoresque and romantic. Nice restaurants and bars ! Lovely port for yachts. Avra and Mythos were our favourite restaurants. The 2 beaches at the end of Kioni are just so beautiful, one with a small taverna.

    Lovely local village.

    Lovely local village. Very friendly people and some great tavernas to choose from. Margarita's is the best cafe! There is also a small museum. Easy drive from here to local beaches. Also 10/15 min drive to Frikes and Kioni.

    Frikes is an incredible little harbour - very friendly, great tavernas, beautiful beaches and a wonderful pier to jump off! We were one if few that didn't come on a yacht but we enjoyed it all the same! I'd return here in a heartbeat!!

    I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town.

    I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town. There are however lots of restaurants and coffee bars, many catering for the boating community, as this is a popular stopping place for people cruising round the Ionian on small to bigger boats. Everywhere within Vathi is very walkable. I found it a bit restricted as a starting point for a solo traveller, as there are no buses, and the tours of historical/mythical sites are private and very expensive for one or two people.

    Frikes is a lovely place, but as we were getting towards the end of the season, and what with all the restrictions caused by Covid, 2 or 3 nights could have been better, with a 2 or 3 night hop at the other end of the island perhaps? Luckily, Aristotelis Apartments were so nice, it didn't matter, and we loved every minute of our stay. There are 3 nice, very small pebbly coves/beaches between Frikes and Kuoni. The water was so crystal clear you can see the bottom for quite a depth. Snorkelling was real fun. Lots of different fish. The little beaches each had a long stone built bench you could sit on. some of the bench would be partly shaded by trees. These beaches weren't serviced with showers, toilets or bars. But beautiful, with lovel views all the way to Lefkada and beyond.
