The spacious and elegantly decorated rooms as well as the kindness of the owners provided me with an amazing and relaxing stay.     This was one of the most fantastic vacations of my life! The villa is perfectly located on the west side of the island. With sprawling views of the sea and sunset before you and of the craggy mountainside behind. Far from other buildings and villages it offers privacy and only the sounds of crashing waves and the wind. Yet only a few minutes by car to scenic beaches and adorable tavernas. The beaches we enjoyed most were located a few kilometers north. Clean, uncrowded, with none of the trappings of mass tourism. Every local we came in contact with was charming, polite, talkative, eager to share a story and give tips about their beautiful island. The food was rustic and homegrown, sometimes in the taverna owner's own field. Some dishes we had were the best we ever tasted. Karpathos is one of those magical places seemingly untouched by the hustle of modern society, there is an innocence and warmth seldom encountered. In my opinion the most beautiful island in the Aegean, I could rave about it at length. There are no words to fully express how wonderful this stay was. One week was not enough and we fully intend to come back and stay at Arpathea. Special thanks to the lovely Evdoxia who managed the reception, she went far and beyond to make our stay pleasant!

    Anastasia is a kind and generous hostess. She has a beautiful garden. The apartment is well designed - it is airy, spacious and feels private. There is a beautiful view of Potali Bay from the balcony. It is a quiet location, but with a hire car suitable for exploring the island. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance. Potali Bay Hotel was open all day during our stay and offered good food and snacks. The beach at Lefkos is superb for swimming.

    Location great for a surfer, and even a non surfer accompanying person would be very happy. Everything very clean, food excellent, local cuisine, didnt use the pool but it looked great. Airconditioning working great, staff beyond friendly. Picked up and dropped off at the airport. Finally someone holding a sign for me at the airport 🙂

    We had chosen a sea view suite on the 3rd floor. Everything was absolutely clean. The staff was very polite and gave us the room an hour before the estimated check in time . Breakfast, which was serving from seven to 10 o’clock every morning with a variety of products.

    Not actually in Karpathos Town, but the village of Arkasa. It was a lively small Greek village with everything you could need. Easy walk to neighbouring Finiki. Twice weekly bus to beautiful beach at Kato Lefkos. Great walk to unspoilt coves beyond Finiki along coast path.

    I liked the beach.

    I liked the beach. The sand is soft and the sea calm and shallow. There are few places to eat but enough for us. We had dinner usually at Calypso restaurant. The food was good ant the staff friendly. There is also a cocktail bar named Pebbles which is excellent. they offer very nice special cocktails. they have live music shows every Friday evening. the cocktails are a little expensive but the wine and beer prices ar mostly reasonable. In general Amoopi is a very quiet place. far from the crows and perfect for a relaxed vacation.

    Arkasa is a lovely, quiet (at least in June) town next to one of the nicest beaches in Greece and beyond, Saint Nicholas Beach. It is a short drive from the airport and from other lovely beaches, including Lefkos and Finiki, where you can also find excellent fish and seafood restaurants. Arkasa has several nice tavernas, cafes and pastry shops to spend time in, several mini markets, and plenty of parking for visitors. You can also enjoy a beautiful sunset from here. It is about a 20-30 minute drive from the main town, Pigadia, and a shorter drive to villages like Menetes, Pyles and Othos.

    Olympos is a traditional village in the northern part of Kaprathos, about 50 klms from the airport/harbour and it takes about 1:30-1:50 mins to drive there. The view from Olympos is magnificent, especially in the west part, where you can enjoy the sunset. It's very quiet and even in the hottest summer days, it's not hot!

    Kyra Panagia offers stunning views, lovely beach with small stones and warm turquoise water, great food at Sophia’s Taverna, free parking, and a charming church. There are also many beautiful apartments and villas to stay at. Downsides: expensive sun beds, sometimes it can get busy, the road from Pigadia is 20 mins but quite difficult for beginner drivers, and there's only one pricey mini market.

    Lack of taxis, buses, decent beaches were downsides. No ATM, one small shop and unreliable ferry service were others. 2 days if you wanted to visit Olympos would be adequate, 3 at best. The only ATM was a Euronet one in Olympos with the associated rip off charges for withdrawing cash. It's badged as a normal bank machine with just small Euronet badges. Beware.

    We liked it as it was a quieter island than some of the others and we like to discover new places. We ate at Poseidon blue for dinner and breakfast both of which were great . You do need a car or bike unless you get taxis around though. Very windy though on our stay only one day of the 4 was the wind low.

    Good pedestrianized streets through the main shopping area...

    Good pedestrianized streets through the main shopping area make it easy to walk around and some excellent restaurants including Mama Maria's by the port made our evenings really special. Boat trips from the harbour go to some of the best beaches like Apella and Kyra Panagia which you otherwise need a car to reach.

    Amoopi is a very seaside small town on a slope, about 20 minutes drive from the main port town of Karpathos Island, Pigadia. Amoopi has two of the most beautiful calm protected and organized beaches of Karpathos, great tavernas, and a variety of non package deal accommodation options. Best to have a rental car when staying there to easily access the beaches, tavernas, Karpathos port (for boat or ferry trips) and for day trips to other locations on the Island. Our absolute favorite place to eat was Dimitrios Fisherman Taverna.
