The bungalow was great. Clean, lots of room and the location is close to Olala restaurant and the village itself. Robi the manager is very helpful and always checking to make sure all is good. Staff were friendly. The snorkelling right of the dock (which is Olala’s but they were fine with Santi using) was fantastic most days. Definitely would return here

Don’t miss out on this gem. The best place we stayed in Indonesia. The bungalow is very romantic. Located directly by the sea, nice and comfortable bed (with a good mosquito net which is not on the pictures), tank with drinkwater and really nice bathroom with warm water and a proper shower. A few meters away from the bungalow, there is a private beach where you can snorkle (gear is available at the bungalow). Amazing reefs and fishes only 3 meters from the shore. The bungalow is also located centrally in between Iboih and Gapang beach on the one side, and Sabang city on the other. Both can be easily reached by scooter which you can rent from the hosts (it’s the best scooter we had in Indonesia so far)! Besides the bungalow we have to mention Borja and Yuyun, the hosts. They were by far the best, sweetest, most helpful and most welcoming persons we have met during our travels. They invited us for dinner in Sabang city, helped arranging transportation (not only on the island, but could also help with transportation in other places in Indonesia), and lots of other things. Yuyun even joined us to the phone shop in Sabang city to buy a new Indonesian simcard (since the initial one we bought in Bali didn’t work). We would recommend everybody to pay a visit to Pulau Weh. The people are the nicest people ever, the “island vibe” is unbeatable and diving here is amazing. Moreover, we would recommend everybody to stay at Seagate. You will never forget the experience! We hope to be back here one day! Thanks a lot Borja and Yuyun!

Once you walked through the lobby onto the beach, it took your breath away. The view was simply stunning and I have never seen water that colour before. The rooms were beautiful, designed to a high standard. We loved the size of the window looking out onto the ocean. The staff were super friendly and very attentive, and we loved the 2 girls. We also hired a scooter here, and they arranged the dolphin trip for us. I would recommend the dolphin trip. Lots of dolphin and you were taken to 3 different spots to snorkel, and the lunch was delicious I would highly recommend this place.

We loved our stay at Freddie's! We came here on our honeymoon, and it was amazing. We got in earlier than check-in time and planned on hanging out at the restaurant until check-in time. While eating (the delicious food and coffee), Freddie came up to us and congratulated us and told us he would get us into our villa early and even invited us into his private residence to wait comfortably (which is gorgeous). The villa itself was beautiful and right on the beach. There is a mini mart on the premises that has everything you might need. While staying at the villa, you can order food and get it delivered, and it's still hot! We received a delicious breakfast every day. The staff are absolutely awesome. My husband made good friends with them, and we were invited to a BBQ and other activities with them, where they showed us the local culture and food. The beach is perfect for snorkeling! There is so much beautiful sea life right outside the villa. We rented a motorbike and drove around the island to explore outside of the villa as well. Freddie helped us set up a taxi to get back to the port and was up bright and early with us to wish us goodbye. Highly recommend staying here! :)

We loved it so much we stayed for 5 extra days! You cannot beat this location. The snorkeling just in front of the bungalows is some of the best on the island. The rooms are simple and yes ours didn’t have a sink but it didn’t really phase us. The owners are lovely and very helpful.

Lovely relaxing easy Island to travel on.

Lovely relaxing easy Island to travel on. We had scooters which were perfect, but many tuk tuks or taxis. Stunning Island, almost entirely covered in natural vegetation. Very low population, caters well for tourists. No flash restaurants that we came across but plenty of options around the Island. Much more relaxed than the mainland with Sharia law, just be respectful and dress appropriately. Bikinis etc on private beaches seem to be fine, but cover up to go on boats, into public areas etc. Once again lovely local people, a pleasure to visit.

    Sabang is an amazing Island.

Sabang is an amazing Island. Some call the island Pulau Weh, some call it Sabang Island. It offers plenty of things to do and see. The people are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We both got there to get our PADI open water and PADI advanced open water. We did the course at Lumba Lumba diving center and would highly recommend that place. Huge amount of knowledge and very high standard. You pay a bit more, but still a lot less than let's say Bali or other places in the world. They are a 5-star PADI resort. The diving is among the best sites in the world, some say in the top 5 spots after Maladives, Mexico and Papua. Also the island provides lots of good food (for instance Baracuda, Dee Dee's, D&D fish). It's easy to get around on a rented scooter. We enjoyed two beautiful weeks there.

Pulah Weh is a cool island to drive around motorbike, it's lush and green with lots of monkeys. Gapang beach is really nice and Bubble Addict is a great place to do dive courses at a far cheaper price than other parts of Indonesia. The ferry from Banda Aceh is frequent and really comfortable as everyone has an assigned seat.
