I've grown up in Simla partly and was heartbroken to see the administration and municipal apathy, and greed in full display. The place was super clean — bathrooms and showers were spotless, and the dorm beds had privacy curtains and individual reading lights, which made sleeping in a shared room much more comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful: I arrived late, and they stayed open for me, even arranged hot water.
