Naples is vibrant, hectic, chaotic in parts, but enormously atmospheric and beautiful. The traffic needs care if you are a pedestrian. The history , architecture and people are exhilarating. The art and food are amazing. Throw in Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum nearby, what more could you want? The local trains an busses make getting about easy. However, to get the most of your visit you need to do a bit of planning, especially if time is limited....there's a lot to see!!Guest review byashleyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We loved the lower-key vibe of this city.
We loved the lower-key vibe of this city. It was the perfect ending of our near 5 week European trip. Crowds (in early Oct), were moderate and not at all oppressive and 95% of everything to do in Sorrento was an easy 20 min walk or less. We loved taking a day trip to Capri and leisurely shopping there and in Sorrento. Getting to and from the train station to our apartment was about a 5 min walk. And the food!!! was fabulous! We'll be back in the future for certain!Guest review bykenUnited States - 10.0

Fantastic base to use when visiting the various towns on the Amulfi Coast (Positano, Amulfi etc) with numerous ferries arriving and departing from the ferry and main harbour (two different harbours in Salerno) throughout the course of the day (in season that is).Guest review byIanSouth Africa - 10.0

Capri is great to explore via taxi, get up early and head up to Ana Capri, less traffic more intimate area. The chair lift is a must to the top of the mountain, and lunch up top of the mountain is amazing. Capri is nice in the evenings to walk around and shop with plenty of places to get cocktails, and explore.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
A wonderful stretch of coastline despite the local drivers!
A wonderful stretch of coastline despite the local drivers! Other main hazard the lack of parking places - particularly appreciative of the private parking space at our house. Despite that, accessible to Pompeii, Amalfi, Ravello, Capri etc. all of which we visited in our four night stay. Particularly good meals at Saraceno d'oro and La Taverna del Leone.Guest review byMerielUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Since childhood, I was fascinated with Pompei. The ruins would take a couple of days to completely absorb as the ruins are much larger than imagined from photos. The vistas were incredible. Every facet of the exploration brought new life to what was once a truly vibrant city.Guest review byMiddlebrooks - 10.0

Caserta is a very underrated place to visit, but it must be seen on your travels. The palace is an unbelievable place. Check out the gardens, it is close to Napoli, Sorrento, and Capri, and an ideal location to base your Holiday. It has everything you need: Road Network, trains, and busesGuest review byIannarelliUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Maiori is lovely, spread out and calm. There are plenty of shops to poke about in and even more restaurants and gelato places to sample. We loved the cleanliness and safety of the sidewalks. It felt spacious.Guest review bySandraCanada
