I had the Collection Superior room. Stunning modern decor, very comfortable bed, marble bathroom with heated floor, very quiet, breakfast was stellar, I wish I could have stayed here a few more nights. The location is very good if you want to be nearer to the forum.

amazing stay in Camplus hotel for 2 nights. the room was modern, clean and equipped with everything you might need. I loved the location as it´s 10 min walk from Termini central railway station, so you don´t need to take any transport after you arrive from the airport or in case you would like to take a train to another city. also it´s close to the city center and it´s a walkable distance. the view from the window was phenomenal, i´ve never experienced something like this, pure beauty and history. the staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. i appreciate their extra support, they really care about your stay. Also you don´t have to pay extra fees for late check in or early check out as it tends to be a common practice in Rome. but it´s not the case for this hotel

Rome has never been on the top of my 'must visit' list...

Rome has never been on the top of my 'must visit' list because I always assumed it would be too busy, full of tourists and too hot. However, I found myself there because of an event, and it seems that October is a much better time to visit! Sure, there was still tourists, but not as many as the summer months. The weather is very pleasant and hot at times - we were averaging about 20 degrees celsius. It's easy to get around, public transport is available but everywhere is within walking distance in the city centre and you stumble upon more little points of interest by walking anyway. As it was our first visit, we did the typical sites. The Trevi Fountain was not my favourite (even though it was beautiful to see), because it was like a mosh pit of people all shuffling around and getting in the way of each other. You have to queue to get anywhere near the fountain itself, but you can see it just fine from on the higher steps. The Spanish Steps was more of the same and we didn't hang around there either. The Colosseum was much better. We visited around 4pm and the sun was beautiful, and the tourist amount was small. We didn't go inside, just took photos outside on the hill across the road - it was an enjoyable experience. Similarly, the Mouth of Truth was also brilliant, with a little organised queue that took around 10-15 minutes before getting to the front. The shops in Rome are okay, but we're not into shopping. They're the same shops as everywhere else, but much bigger. If you leave the main streets, there's littler shops specialising in more gift related items that are more unique to Rome. Can highly recommend L'Antico Forno, a cafe right on the Trevi Fountain, which you'd think would be expensive, but only cost 9 euro for two sandwiches! And they were the best sandwiches we ate the whole trip.

The walk from the Diana Home Rome FCO to the restaurants is only 5 min. The shop owners are amazingly friendly and helpful. The restaurants are famous for their fresh seafood, and of course everything Italian. It's safe and beautiful and a tremendously coveted place to be. Ask the host about setting up reservations, or day trip info, she is exceptionally accommodating beyond any other place we visited. I will forever promote this place. I call my "Happy place" It's a 5 star all the way around. clean environment, secure, helpful and caring people, and super great value. Smiles, and love surrounds this place. I wish I could move here...I could market it 100%

I have stayed here several times before cruises.

I have stayed here several times before cruises. In the "gothic" area within remains of old city wall are several modestly priced family owned restaurants. My favorite has become "Count Zeno" . The Catholic Church at end of street has a wonderful history of giving appropriate respect and prayerful burials of bodies found along beach and outside the walls. The interior is a jewel box with esquisite art work. Liturgy was well celebrated Sunday Masses were full with varied congregation and there are evening weekday Masses. The central Market is worth a visit and since you have a well stocked kitchen at your disposal, it's easy to prepare yourself meals. Many good bakeries in area. The restaurants along the waterfront are overpriced. Seafood is expensive and they cater to tourists. There are several well stocked and well priced wine shops where you can good excellent wines to enjoy

I don't think many people think of "going to the beach" in Rome, but it's only about 30 minutes away and costs $1.50 by public transit. The town itself is a little slow when not in high beach season, but there are loads of restaurants and shops to keep you busy if the beach isn't your thing. Public transport is great. And, you can visit incredible recently unearthed Roman Ruins of Ostia Antica very easily.

This is a must see for Italy lovers, in my opinion.

This is a must see for Italy lovers, in my opinion. The history and art is extremely interesting and the ancient city is one you can get lost in, wandering down narrow charming streets, stumbling upon a palazzo from medieval times, or coming upon a breathtaking view. Viterbo is not a curated experience, such as Montalcino or Montepulciano. It is a bit gritty and caters to its community, not tourists. Its Etruscan and medieval era history and art is exceptional if limited. A great stopping off point if heading north from Rome. There are hot springs in the area which we didn't have time to experience.

Frascati is a small, pleasant town with a good range of bars, restaurants, cafes and gelateria. A taxi from Ciampino airport takes 20-30 minutes and costs €50-60. It is a particularly good place to stay if you want to be near Rome but not actually staying in the city. Eating out is much cheaper and the town is relatively quiet and relaxed. As a bonus, the transport links are excellent. Rome is just 30 minutes or so by train from a small station right in the centre, with trains every hour on weekdays and every two hours on Sundays. And nearby places of interest such as Castel Gandolfo, Ariccia and Velletri, are accessible by regular buses from the main square (Piazza Marconi).

During my visit to Gaeta, I was truly impressed by several places in this charming coastal town. I especially loved walking along the seaside promenade and the beautiful avenue of plane trees—it was very relaxing and scenic. The old town with its colorful streets and historic buildings was also a highlight. For a quick bite or a casual meal, there are plenty of great options. I particularly enjoyed the local cafés and restaurants where you can try fresh seafood and traditional Italian dishes. There are also small grocery stores nearby if you prefer to grab something on the go. Getting around Gaeta is quite easy. The town is compact, so most places can be reached on foot, and it’s very pleasant to explore the streets at a leisurely pace. For families with young children, I would highly recommend visiting the beaches, which are clean and safe. A walk along the promenade or a visit to the Spanish Fortress on Monte Orlando is also fun and manageable with kids. The town has a relaxed atmosphere, making it perfect for families to enjoy both sightseeing and leisure time together.
